Did you watch him play this year? Why?
He showed no improvement this past year, in fact, quite the opposite. For whatever reason, the coaching here didnt help him. He may get the help he needs elsewhere. I hope he does. It does not sit well with me to see coaches fail a guy. Not blaming one or the other but imo its best for everyone to move on without the other. Why?
Well we gave the coaches an extension, so I am sure it will work out.He showed no improvement this past year, in fact, quite the opposite. For whatever reason, the coaching here didnt help him. It will or it wont. I quit worrying about the money the AD spends a long time ago. I'd like to think it doesnt stop the clock from running.Well we gave the coaches an extension, so I am sure it will work out.
Good observation. There wasnt much fluid about him. He was all arms. He also had the biggest swing on the team when it comes to where the barrel was coming from. Very difficult to hit breaking balls if you have to commit that early. Anticapition was a must for him. Sad no changes were made imo.Liked Mendham's efforts but he has the most unnatural looking left handed swing ever. His swing just looks akward compared to most lefties. (Jerking or chopping motion and not a smooth natural upward arc.) Hope that he lands with a good program that he feels like fits him best.
I will say that in Muschamp's case, the clock was paused long enough bring him back for that final disastrous year that everyone saw coming. It will or it wont. I quit worrying about the money the AD spends a long time ago. I'd like to think it doesnt stop the clock from running.
It would take a truly disastrous season to move on from Kingston after this year. He has basically made the playoffs 2/3 seasons so far. I think we all know the expectations are higher than the end result of this past year but nothing about this season was close to a fireable offense.I will say that in Muschamp's case, the clock was paused long enough bring him back for that final disastrous year that everyone saw coming.
Having said that, Kingston wasn't given any ridiculous raise or buyout. Should he pull a Muschamp next year, we could buy him out with no problem. WILL we is another question...
Yeah, definitely not this year. I do wonder what next year will look like with the roster turnover. And he simply has to improve our hitting. It would take a truly disastrous season to move on from Kingston after this year. He has basically made the playoffs 2/3 seasons so far. Well I was referring to the coming year as “this year”- I guess in my mind, last year is “last” year, so “next year” just became “this year”… Right? 🤔Yeah, definitely not this year. I do wonder what next year will look like with the roster turnover. And he simply has to improve our hitting.
Lol. And I was thinking of this same calendar year. I meant this past season.Well I was referring to the coming year as “this year”- I guess in my mind, last year is “last” year, so “next year” just became “this year”… Right? 🤔
That question crossed my mind also. Gotta wonder what our coaches are looking for in a player. You'd think they would look for tools they could work with... go figure. You have to ask yourself.. With all these players being beamed up to other schools and they didn't work out... Is it the coaches fault to not properly recruiting the right players?
In the end the coaches are responsible. They were responsible for the great pitching we had this year, they were responsible for making the playoff… they were also responsible for our atrocious hitting and losing in the regional. When it comes to individuals transferring, that can happen for multiple reasons. Sometimes it is coaching, sometimes it is personal, sometimes a kid just thinks he is better than he is..You have to ask yourself..
