What makes you think Vandy didn't turn a profit? I would be surprised if they didn't turn a huge one.Was wondering about Vandy, then read the article. A more accurate rendition might be that Mizzou is the only public SEC member to not turn a profit.
Looks like Sterk has a base salary of $700k per year.
Once again, they were not allowed in, they were invited in. And they've won the East twice in football, the SEC's most important sport, since they've been in. How many times have we won the East? They are members of the American Association of Colleges and Universities, one of only four conference institutions to enjoy that distinction. The fact that the league only has four such members, and half of those are the latest schools added, is an embarrassment to the SEC.Why were they ever allowed in? They are a complete embarrassment to the SEC.
Doubt the SEC spends too much time being embarrassed over that.Once again, they were not allowed in, they were invited in. But they added two such schools, when only one made sense otherwise in all aspects, so it must have been a consideration.Doubt the SEC spends too much time being embarrassed over that.

They don't belong in the SEC- need to trade them for Clemson
Maybe not, but USC tried hard under Dr. Palms to receive an invitation to the AAU....significantly improving the library, a huge endowment campaign, endowed chairs, etc. IIRC, state funding killed our chances.Doubt the SEC spends too much time being embarrassed over that.

SC does not fund it's colleges and universities to nearly the same extent as other states. We have a very poor records of college funding from the state level.
I'm being picked on! Where is my safe place?Oh please not this again, we just discussed this.

USC has a much higher graduation rate than Mizzou. They aren't even at 70%. Anybody can teach inter gender basket weaving and protesting 101 and claim they are some super Harvard. That's the truth about Missouri.Once again, they were not allowed in, they were invited in. And they've won the East twice in football, the SEC's most important sport, since they've been in. Well, you know what they say when it comes to such: ignorance is bliss...And yet people will be screaming to the heavens that USC raised tuition, yet again, today.

If they weren't outstanding academically, they wouldn't be in the American Association of Colleges and Universities, an organization they have belonged to for years. Maybe their graduation rates are lower because their standards are higher.USC has a much higher graduation rate than Mizzou. They aren't even at 70%. Neither is Texas A&M.Missouri shouldn’t be in the Southeastern Conference because they aren’t in the Southeast.
