A lockout of Major League Baseball players appeared imminent after talks between the league and union ended after just 7 minutes of negotiations Wednesday afternoon, less than 12 hours before the expiration of the game's collective-bargaining agreement.

The strike in the early 80’s (okay - it was ‘81; I googled) soured me on MLB and I really haven’t looked back since. That made a pretty big (negative) impression on a 12yo boy who loved baseball. I continued to love the game, just not MLB.

I say all of that to say; Lockout? Strike? Pi** on em.

I think the last thing any of them want is to lose any games given what happened in 2020 so I think they’ll get a deal done. As long as they get their sh*t together and I can still go to see the Braves play the Angels in July, I’ll be happy.

It strikes a little closer to home this cycle. My son's hitting coach is supposed to get called up to this spring training, but that might not happen if the lock out goes on too long.
