As you know by now, South Carolina coach Shane Beamer is traveling to Dillon, Woodland and Sumter High Schools today via helicopter to check in at the high schools of three of the Gamecocks' top underclassmen targets.
The in-state stops today come after Beamer was scheduled to stop in on several Virginia schools on Tuesday, including Highland Springs, where the Gamecocks landed portal addition Antwane Wells from, Green Run, Salem, Oscar Smith, Life Christian Academy and Benedictine Prep.
Among the prospects the Gamecocks are after at those schools: 2023 four-star CB Antonio Cotman Jr., 2023 four-star DL Joel Starlings, 2024 TE Luca Puccinelli and 2024 DB Asaad Brown.
Beamer was joined on those Tuesday stops by defensive coordinator Clayton White.
** South Carolina wide receivers coach Justin Stepp was in Fort Myers, Fla. on Tuesday and is in Tampa, Fla. today.
One of the more intriguing stops there will be at Lakeland High where he's set to watch 2023 four-star WR Tyler Williams play basketball.
Williams already has 20-plus offers and is a blue chip target but I expect Stepp to try and at least take a big swing here.
Among those Tampa schools, the Gamecocks also have offers out to 2025 DB DJ Pickett, 2024 four-star WR Zycarl Lewis Jr., 2024 four-star WR Bredell Richardson, 2024 four-star ATH Tavoy Feagin, 2024 four-star RB Anthony Carrie, 2023 four-star OL Clay Wedin, and 2023 three-star DE Antonio Camon.
Among the Fort Myers group, the Gamecocks have offers out to 2023 four-star RB Richard Young, 2023 four-star DB Elliott Washington and 2023 four-star DE Damon Wilson, which is why new ends coach Sterling Lucas was also scheduled to stop by Venice with Stepp.
** After the Virginia stop with Beamer on Tuesday, Clayton White is set to hit Tennessee on Wednesday. The Gamecocks have an offer out to Lipscomb 2024 LB Edwin Spillman and Riverdale 2023 four-star LB Caleb Herring as well as Ensworth 2023 three-star WR Jacob Page.
** Offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield was in North Carolina on Tuesday and is scheduled for stops in Georgia on Wednesday.
Among those stops will be at Rome, where the Gamecocks are targeting 2023 four-star DL Stephiylan Green and North Cobb where 2023 RB Benjamin Hall resides. Hall has been blowing up lately with an offer from Michigan rolling in.
** Offensive line coach Greg Adkins will hit multiple schools in Tennessee throughout a two-day stop in the state on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Gamecocks have an offer out to Alcoa 2023 three-star OL Lance Williams, who previously visited the school.
** Running backs coach Montario Hardesty is spending Tuesday and Wednesday in Miami checking in on multiple schools.
Those schools are absolutely loaded across the board, so we'll still with running backs for this piece. The Gamecocks have offers out to 2024 RB Jordan Lyle, 2024 four-star RB Davion Gause, 2023 four-star RB Sedrick Irvin (Notre Dame commit) and 2023 four-star RB Mark Fletcher.
** After dropping in on primarily 2023 targets Victor Burley and Zavion Hardy on Tuesday, defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey was scheduled to hit several more Georgia high schools on Wednesday.
Lindsey was set to drop by the schools of priority 2024 targets Hevin Brown-Shuler and Alex Cunningham today.
** Tight ends coach Erik Kimrey spent Tuesday rounding out his Midlands schools before making the flight to Massachusetts last night to hit schools up there today.
While the Gamecocks clearly haven't recruited up there much in the past, there are some intriguing prospects in Central Catholic 2023 four-star ATH Preston Zinter, 2023 four-star WR Ronan Hanafin, 2023 four-star OL Samson Okunlola and 2023 BC commit 2023 four-star DE Boubacar Traore.
** After hitting Alabama and Georgia on Tuesday, defensive backs coach Torrian Gray is visiting several more Georgia high schools plus Georgia Military College on Wednesday.
Gray dropped in on four-star safety target Sylvester Smith and three-star ATH Vicari Swain yesterday before watching Eagles Landing play basketball.
Among the stops today is a visit to Putnam County where the Gamecocks just offered wide receiver Jalon Kilgore over the weekend.
** Pete Lembo was in Virginia both Tuesday and Wednesday. Among the stops on Tuesday was at Jakai Moore's alma mater, Patriot High, to check in on three-star OL offeree Cole Surber.
