Beautiful Bobby has died. I think his wife died just a few months ago
Less than that. She died 40 days before he did from what I read.

Sad news. This was the golden age of wrestling.

It was. Even after I was old enough to know it wasn’t real, it was awesome. I started losing interest around the Monday Wars timeframe. Started getting ridiculous.Sad news. This was the golden age of wrestling.
Before we moved to Charleston we lived in Spartanburg. Saw my first wrastlin’ with my grandmother at one of those Tuesday night events.Spartanburg auditorium tv tapings on Tuesday nights. Great Childhood memories.
I saw Copperfield there at Spartanburg Made a Harley appear on the center of the seating Saw Gallagher there as well. They put plastic on seats and the floor for the frost 20 rows. He was awesome. Saw lots of wrestling there as well. Great matches especially Flair and ValentineBefore we moved to Charleston we lived in Spartanburg. Also saw David Copperfield there. At the time I didn’t realize both were just illusionists.
When I first started watching wrestling in the mid 80s, the Midnight Express was THE heel tag team with Jim Cornette (and that damn tennis racket).
But Sweet Stan Lane wasn't part of the original tag team with Eaton. Anyone remember who the other guy was and why Lane replaced him? (Seems like his name might have been Dennis something?)
Aah, yes. That jogged my memory. Thanks!Dennis Condrey. He went to the AWA and formed "The Real Midnight Express " with Randy Rose and with Paul Heyman as a manager. Later they would feud with Cornette in JCP
I watched all that. NWA, AWA, WWF, Florida Championship, etc.Dennis Condrey. He went to the AWA and formed "The Real Midnight Express " with Randy Rose and with Paul Heyman as a manager. Later they would feud with Cornette in JCP
I didn’t understand kids like you. I was in the RnR, Rhodes, Kollof camp.I grew up Saturday mornings watching Loverboy Dennis and Beautiful Bobby with Jim Cornette. They were my favorite tag team even if you were supposed to boo them because of their teamwork. I remember getting grief in middle school because I was seen on TV cheering for the Midnight Express versus the Rock-n-roll Express. It hurt my cred with the ladies for a while.
I loved Rhodes but was also a big Horseman fan as well. I think for me I was always a bigger fan of the guys that could entertain you in and out if the ring. I know none of the Midnight Express guys really talked but Cornette was always amazing and they all played so well off of each other. I do remember enjoying Earle Robert Eaton when he was part of the Blue Bloods with Steven Regal as well.I didn’t understand kids like you. I was in the RnR, Rhodes, Kollof camp.
I KNEW IT!!!! No wonder we argue so much.I loved Rhodes but was also a big Horseman fan as well. I think for me I was always a bigger fan of the guys that could entertain you in and out if the ring. The best. Dusty was the best storyline writer ever. All that era was pretty much him til Bischoff came in.Dusty and Flair were the best crap talkers with Roddy Piper close. Never heard the Barbarian say anything
Ricky Morton: A man and his mullet.I grew up Saturday mornings watching Loverboy Dennis and Beautiful Bobby with Jim Cornette.
