First off I want to wish him the best as making this type of decision is probably harder than any of us can imagine. With that said though, think on these things:
1 - I was always taught that someone can only hide behind a false mask for so long and that the longer you know someone, the better chances you know if they are true to their words and are really as good as they seem. You knew Ward for 3 years and have to know who he is as a person. If anything was going to change, it would have by now. You only knew Steele and Orgeron for a couple of weeks. There is a very good chance they are not who they have portrayed themselves as being and it will be to late when you realize that.
2 - You feel Steele will get you ready for NFL and is a good d-coordinator. Just look at his last game as a defensive coordinator. He gave up 70 points to a Big east school. His own players said they didnt think he was that good and had a terminology so complex that no one could understand it. Ask Clemson people what type of coordinator he was.
Ward had on bad season but is working hard to correct what happened and worked hard to let you know that you were a big part of that. You said he was like a father figure to you. Orgeron threw the kitchen sink at you and maybe he will be good, maybe not but you knew that Ward was going to be there for you.
If there is time to rethink it, do so. But if you are truly set, then best of luck to you and hope you succeed at whatever you do unless you play us.
