While there have been some great games the first day, my passion and excitement isn't what it used to be because of the inability of our program to be involved. You see teams like Georgia St., UAB, etc. win and it reminds me it has been over 40 years since we've won a tournament game. Do we have the longest streak of not winning a game in Division 1? The futility of our basketball program is mind-boggling to say the least. Plus, it is not like we're playing in a dominant conference.

Well, there always next year!

Truth be told, the Coppin St. & Richmond losses still sting me a bit. I was in college then & the football program was miserable (Thanks, Fat Bradstard!), so basketball was really all we had, & we were pretty dang good. Then to see us crumble in the tourney 2 straight years........drove me to drink. I haven't recovered.

Could not care less about the tournament

....even though nobody cares what I think

I love the tournament, it's the greatest sporting event of the year. But at the same time it's extremely depressing. The tournament is the biggest, wildest, craziest, most raucous party in town every year, and the Gamecocks never get invited. Instead we hear all the noise from a few blocks away of everybody having a fun time, and we have to ask our friends who attended about how great the party was.

This is why we need to be patient with Frank and quit changing coaches every 5 or 6 years. Horn needed to go, but Frank is a keeper. He took K-State to the Elite 8 so he can be successful here, too.
