Can anyone see clemmons being on the losing side of a 3, or even a 4 game skid?? They play those four teams in that order, from week 4 to week 7. Brian Kelly always fields very good teams with BIG linemen, and usually some pretty good skill athletes too. Georgia Tech ALWAYS gives the taters all they can handle, and often beats the taters. BC gives the taters fits too, and usually have a stout running game. Miami? Well, they played us tooth and nail just 6 months ago in the bowl game, when we had a pretty good offense, and our defense probably played one of its better games then. I would LOVE to see them lose 4 in a row, and it could happen! It would at least shut up all the taters about how elite they think they are!

No. I don't expect that at all. I believe they will lose at least one of those games, but they always find some way to snake their way to a win in most of those kinds of games...

CSux has more horseshoes than any other team in the country, except perhaps ND. It depends on who feeds the zebras the most. the others I don't know much about as they are acc.

likely 2-2 or 3-1 over that stretch. only way they lose 3 or 4 is if Watson is hurt by then, which at this point is probably a 50/50 bet

Yeah, ND is the only real shot at a loss there. They don't call it the All CupCake conference for nuthin!

To keep it simple, I think some of what happened to SC will happen to Clemson. We went into the 2014 season "thinking" our defense would be solid but honestly we were sold a bag of lies, esp when Ward made the claim that he thought the defense would be one of the best he's coached. What a joke. Getting back to the taters, their defense is replacing 8 starters. That unit will take a huge hit. Not to mention their starting LT is leaving for the draft. If they can't protect Watson it won't matter how good he is. They'll be a solid team but don't strike any fear in me as being considered a dangerous team. I believe they lose to ND & GT.

I agree with the theme of your analysis. However, the one big difference between this year's Clemson team and last year's Carolina team is the schedule. As bad as last year's Gamecocks defense was, I would like to have seen what they could have done with opening games against Wofford and App. State, a first test against a decent team on the road at Louisville, and an open date before opening their "real" home schedule against a marquee new opponent. Even a bad young defense can gain enough confidence to be competitive against their first serious opponent by week 5. If nothing else, the fans get to wait until week 5 to realize their defense sucks. Flip it around and let that defense open up against a physical Texas A&M or Notre Dame in week one and your hopes for the season can be destroyed the first game.

As to the OP's question, I'd be surprised if Clemson went any worse than 3-1 over this 4 game stretch. I'd be _very_ surprised if they went any worse than 2-2. Remember that during our 5-year run where we were beating Clemson by double digits every year, they were running rough-shod over the ACC. Even in the year which Clemson put on the most embarrassing bowl performance any of us have ever seen, they won that conference's title. The only difference between now and then in the ACC is that FSU is good again. But none of those other losers pose any serious threat to Clemson's 2nd place in the conference.

Very well said

This is why I keep saying don't count out Missouri in the SEC east. This year, like the last two, their schedule is set just like you say. They do a great job scheduling.

You seem to forget that they lost the most awesomest, mad genius offensive wizard and innovator the world has ever known Choad Morris (who's number our defense had every year except for one because of that magical, original, masterfully creative play that our defense could not stop...the jet sweep!) who was only there long enough to implement 10-12% of his playbook.
But hey, as with everyone that moves on from Clempzin, they pale in comparison to their replacement(s) and now they have the new most awesomest, mad genius offensive wizard...well, actually it's better because they have 2. Jeff Scott and...um...what-ever-his-name-is which doesn't matter because he is definitely better...so all opponents are in for double the trouble!
Maybe Choad left em up to 15% of his playbook...which would be pages 8057-12.645 or so, and probably just past the section of how to strap your chin strap, how to load the buses for the ride around the stadium and the top ways to avoid turf-toe!

An instant classic.

Tigers will win all four

Didn't Brad Scott have co-offensive coordinators when he was here? Didn't they have a lot of disagreements over the play calls?

Yes on the disagreements. I think one was on the field and one in the booth and they argued and got the plays in late.

I'm not remembering whether they had shared titles. John Reaves and John Eason were the coaches.

I beg to differ. First of all, the ACC has to be tired of Dabo and losing to the Daboettes. Bryan Kelly, Bobby Pertrino, and Paul Johnson vastly superior to Sweeney .Last year with Sweeney's best team, Petrino in his first year played Clemson to the wire.GT stomped them and put wonderboy out the game. Notre Dame will expect to whip the Paper Tigers in the valley and will line up with more size, strength and talent. FSU'S Jimbo Fisher is just barley better at coaching than Sweeney but once again has more talent and will win again. I really expect Clemson to lose these games along with the Carolina game and do not overlook BC or NCSU who could also rock Clemson's boat. As we shall soon see, this years Tater bunch will prove to be much weaker than last years version. I took a bet with Wofford and + 10.
