Very good hire by the Taters. Our next coach better be a grand slam hire.Clemson hired the Michigan baseball coach.
Numbers don’t tell the story. He turned around 2 programs that were floundering and started winning conference championships and could have one the 2019 CWS, plus he’s a phenomenal recruiter. He’ll get you to the tournament, but surprised they would hire a coach with a winning % of only 60%
It tells a good portion of the story actually. I don’t disagree he may have helped get some programs back on track to an extent , but he has not shown he’s an elite coach that’s a “ splash hire “ as some say. He’s basically a solid hire with things to be determined going forward.Numbers don’t tell the story. When a few of us mentioned the former Indiana coach as our HC, we got the same arguments against him. He turned out pretty damned good. He’ll get you to the tournament, but surprised they would hire a coach with a winning % of only 60%
That is a very good record coming from a very cold weather school , plus his first college coaching job was at taterland . IMO, he will do a good job and be better for that program. He’ll get you to the tournament, but surprised they would hire a coach with a winning % of only 60%
