They could bring in some of the old Southwest Conference teams (and rebrand as the Southwest Conference maybe). They'd be on the Conference USA level at least....and there is nothing wrong with that.I don't see how they survive if Texas and OU leave. They will become a minor conference with a small seat at the table. West Virginia will be the next to leave.

Maybe my Lions can win more than three games a year.Getting ready to Invite the KC Chiefs, Houston Texans and Detroit Lions.
What i keep seeing on the internet is Iowa State and Kansas to the Big Ten Oklahoma State and some other Texas teams and maybe Kansas State to the Pacific 12. The Big 12 will cease to exist. Phillips 66 likely not happy about this.I don't see how they survive if Texas and OU leave. They will become a minor conference with a small seat at the table. If this is the case then the SWC should go after Memphis, Houston and Tulsa. They could bring in some of the old Southwest Conference teams (and rebrand as the Southwest Conference maybe). They'd be on the Conference USA level at least....and there is nothing wrong with that.
It'll never get that crazy....unless the SEC can find about $10B in funded research monies that TOSU would give up it's share of if it left the BTAA.This may get crazy before it’s all over, leaving the sec with all the good teams including Ohio state and Clemson.
Okie State does not qualify for the Big Ten, but Iowa State would. The B1G and ACC will have to add 2 teams each.
Notre Dame will be fought over for both.
I could see Kansas to either due to basketball.
Maybe the BIG invites ND and Kansas with Ok State as a back-up if ND goes to the ACC.
Maybe the ACC also invites ND and Kansas but who would be their back-up if ND goes B1G?
I would like to see Cincinnati and Boise State some how sneak into one of the P4 super conferences. Not so much for cry baby Central Florida. The B1G and ACC will have to add 2 teams each.

Why not Rice.....maybe they want or need some academics?Okay, but not Rice.
You are wiser. You are thinking full picture and I am thinking only half picture. Why not Rice.....maybe they want or need some academics?
Wiser? No. Just have always liked the Rice Owls baseball team....they were always the little engine that could...and did. Plus, they were the only "major" program that wrote me a letter showing some interest. You are wiser. You are thinking full picture and I am thinking only half picture.

Not so fast. As of 2017, UND became an associate member of the Big Ten.ND will never join the Big Ten as that ship has sailed. They will, however, join the ACC based upon their current agreement IF they are forced to in football. Kansas makes more sense to Big Ten.
They have an agreement with ACC until I believe 2035 to join ACC if they forego independence in football. Most of their other sports including basketball are already in ACC conference. They wanted in Big Ten a while ago but Big Ten wasn’t having it.Not so fast. As of 2017, UND became an associate member of the Big Ten.
According to some reports ND will stay Independent for the next five years. Now what that was based on, I don't know. But, it was stated by two different sports commentators. The B1G and ACC will have to add 2 teams each.

Probably because of the stand alone NBC contract.According to some reports ND will stay Independent for the next five years. Now what that was based on, I don't know. But, it was stated by two different sports commentators.
Just the opposite. The B1G has made several overtures to UND. UND is still holding grudges from over 100 years ago. They have an agreement with ACC until I believe 2035 to join ACC if they forego independence in football. Most of their other sports including basketball are already in ACC conference. They wanted in Big Ten a while ago but Big Ten wasn’t having it.
Their associate membership into Big 10 was for their ice hockey team.
Didn't they have a chance to join the ACC in the past but chose the Big 12 instead?Yea, WVU will be in worse shape than Ok State. WVU was already a fish out of water - 1000 miles away from anyone else in the conference. But if the conference collapses, they literally have nowhere else to go. No major conference east of the Mississippi will take them and if the Big 12 stays a conference by adding weaker teams, WVU might as well be independent.
Don't believe so. I think WVU tried but I don't think the ACC would consider them because of academic reasons.Didn't they have a chance to join the ACC in the past but chose the Big 12 instead?
You are right.Don't believe so. I think WVU tried but I don't think the ACC would consider them because of academic reasons.
Have a soft place in my heart for WVA. Wish SEC had invited them instead of B10 whore Mo.You are right.
