Got a little bored between games tonight so I looked this link up regarding CWS champions over the years. Up until 1990 teams like SoCAL, LSU, and Texas would go on 5 year runs of consecutive wins and dominance. Since1990, only 3 teams, Oregon State, LSU and Carolina have won consecutive titles.

Seems to speak to the parity around the country these days, and just how hard it is to repeat in baseball, compared to previously.

Fun fact: the highest winning percentage in college baseball over the last 31 years belongs to the Wichita State Shockers, though they have fallen on (relatively) hard times lately. They also have the fourth highest winning percentage all-time, but only one national championship--the 1989 title. Late night Wikipedia binges are fun.

FWIW, no SEC team, including LSU had ever won a national championship. UGA won the first in 1990. Then, the LSU/Skip Bertman dynasty began.
