** Kiel Pollard said Trae Kenion has been out to practice and he likes what he’s seen so far. He’s also been impressed with Keshawn Toney at the tight end position as well.
** Pollard said his goal this season is to be the go-to guy on the offense but said the ultimate goal is to be in Atlanta competing for an SEC title.
** The transition to having Bobby Bentley as tight ends coach has been smooth, he said, since Bentley recruited him out of high school so the two already had a really good relationship.
** Wide receiver Randrecous Davis says that he's the healthiest he's felt in a long time and that he's had to change everything about how he lives his life, especially with his diet. He says he wasn't drinking enough water previously and wasn't eating enough in general and enough of the right foods. Davis feels like this is the year he needs to put it all together. He's working exclusively in the slot.
** Hank Manos said there were a few butterflies leading up to his first start In the Belk Bowl, but that otherwise it was fairly normal preparation because of how Eric Wolford readies them to play at any time. Manos said that he leans on Donell Stanley a lot because of his experience and how much football he’s seen.
** Mon Denson said that Thomas Brown has incorporated a lot more drills to encourage the backs to stay lower and play with better pad level. Backs continue to rotate along the first team. Denson said Kevin Harris showed his power during the scrimmage on Saturday.
** Deshaun Fenwick says that the biggest change he's had to make is in his maturity. He admits he didn't take every reps seriously last year while he was redshirting and that he's had to change his mindset in that sense. His biggest goal is to become a more consistent player.
** Fenwick says that LeVonte Valentine hasn't been with the team much because he's running track. Asked how fast Valentine is, "10.4 (in the 100m). He's fast as hell." Fenwick’s also been impressed with Kevin Harris and what he can do as well.
Chris Clark and Collyn Taylor also contributed to this report.
