They are saying tonight that the Browns will approach the draft and free agency as if they need to find a starting QB. Also said Manzel's problems are "deep rooted". Could be good for Shaw, although he's not the type of kid that would wish misfortune on anyone else.

I think Shaw will be fine. He has the perfect skill set to be a backup QB in the NFL (and the perfect salary - league minimum). When you have a bloated contract like Manziel's, if you aren't starting (or at least showing potential to start) - you're toast.

Shaw isn't expected to be a starter and with his work ethic and mental toughness, mixed with his surprising ability (surprising to NFL execs, not to USC fans) means he can probably be a backup in the league for as long as he likes.
