Just one more thing to add to the list. Many KFC and Bojangles restaurants, among others, are not offering chicken tenders right now. Wings are also in very short supply, with a lot of Buffalo Wild Wings actually running out of wings.

Oh, and it's rumored there may be another toiler paper shortage.

If these items are in short supply it can be traced to the source and probably a shortage of workers due to what they are making to stay at home. Im also hearing there may be a shortage of truck drivers.

I’ve been using as much cash as possible knowing they’re trying to get rid of it.

Gas shortage, chicken shortage, lumber shortage, chip shortage, truck shortage, chlorine shortage, do we see a pattern here? Entering into the socialist stage.

I might live longer if I don't have any greasy ass wings to eat.

Don’t forget lumber prices being through the roof! I’m over all of this CRAP! Cut off the unemployment and force people to get off their butts and back to work!
I love things like this. One post proclaiming the coming of socialism and the person agreeing with it is complaining about how capitalism works. You can’t make this stuff up.

I am in banking. We received notice this morning that there will be another coin shortage.

I find this interesting. I've completely stopped carrying cash for some time now - I can count on one hand the times I've used it in the last three years. I've always thought I was "normal" and that most people had shifted that way.

As a banker, is that what you're seeing (i.e., more people going cashless)? A coin shortage completely surprises me simply because I can't imagine enough people using them.

This is how it goes for me and my wife anytime we show up somewhere and need cash:
Me: "Shoot, I don't think I have any cash, do you?"
Her: "I doubt it, let me check."
Me: "I have $2, what about you?"
Her: "I don't have anything."
Me: "Crap, where's the closest ATM?"
Again me: "Good grief, it's 2021. Who doesn't take cards anymore? I can watch live video feeds from Mars on my phone, but some places still only accept cash??"

I'm in the trucking industry. There's been a shortage of drivers for quite some time. And with port expansions and larger ships coming to port, it's only getting worse. My fleet of drivers is aging and we rarely see drivers coming in looking for a job even tho we pay more than just about anybody. We're a small company running 10 trucks full time and 2 part time. I could run 5 times that tomorrow if the drivers were there. They ain't. So when our drivers age out, I will close the doors and be done. Until then, I'll pick and choose the best freight to haul. Reefer containers (refridgerated) ain't one of them because they have to be babysitted. With so much work out there, better to run something easier that pays just as well. Pretty safe bet I'm not alone.

I recently talked to some timber consultants who work in rural counties around Savannan and over in the SC Lowcountry and they said it's getting harder to find log truck operators because the insurance costs are getting out too high to keep their trucks on the road.

They can't make enough money to justify the work, even though timber prices are going through the roof.

To remain somewhat affordable, the insurance I have to carry requires me to hire only drivers that are highly experienced with stellar driving records. That's the reason I have to pay well. That pool is even smaller. No entry level meaning I have to practically steal drivers if I want them. But even that's tough to do.
Before I started in this business I was in roofing and siding for 30 years. The rising cost of various insurances and the fact I wouldnt hire cheap labor eventually made me non-competive after a pretty good run... so I retired.

No chicken shortage, plenty of chickens.....just wings and tenders.....I have never seen a chicken without wings. Or tenders! It's a hoax I tell ya!
I hear chick fila grows them in a lab with no beaks or something… I am sure that was an internet rumor though akin to the old one about Marylin Manson removing a rib so he could bend all the way over and s… Woah, keeping it PG, my Bad!

A chicken without a pecker is just downright Un American! Not to mention a Manson without a rib.....

A lot of good comments in here. I lead supply chain and sourcing for A multi-billion dollar business, and supply chains are totally in disarray right now for many reasons. Limited supply (COVID labor, stimulus, global demand for raw materials, ocean freight, driver shortages, etc) combined with unprecedented demand (partially due to COVID recovery) has created a vacuum. But there isn’t a shortage of chickens.

I did hear from a friend today who lives in Columbia that CFA lines were much shorter than usual due to chicken shortages. When CFA is running out of chicken, you know there’s a problem.

Yes a serious 18 wheel driver shortage. They all left for Amazon when the economy died. A lot make more on unemployment not working at all.

Max you can make in unemployment in most states is like 600 a week, are truckers really paid that poorly?
