OT: Day Trip Dining Options

Fellow Gamecocks, it's been many years since I spent time in Columbia for anything other than a day trip to the zoo with my kids or a Carolina sporting event. I have some friends who will be spending the day in Columbia tomorrow (mainly for the zoo), and they were looking for good / unique / worthwhile lunch options. Demo: Young family, mid-30's, one young child.

My tastes have changed drastically since I was in my early 20's and I know Columbia has as well. Rather than telling them to just find a place in the Vista I was hoping some of you may have some suggestions. Anything come to mind?

Honesty just have them drive around the vista and pick something. There are options for whatever type of food they're into.
Carolina Ale House would be a possible option with the rooftop dining area.

Ahhh . . . LaBrasca's. The original Pizza Parlor on Upper King Street in Charleston was across the street from my high school. For me, it was the best pizza ever!

Just drive around the Vista! Gah! Didn't you know that just by driving through the Vista, you can look at a sign on a building and know what the restaurant serves and if the food kills/sucks.
