OT: Planning to take the family to the Beaufort Air Show.

Any suggestions for maximum benefit? get there when? parking, crowds, etc. How long will it take me to get in? I saw the show is Saturday and Sunday, but didn't see where the schedule broke them out. does everything happen on Saturday, and Sunday is just to view, or is it the same thing both days? Tickets are sold out, so hoping to do the free admission with chairs and blankets. My daughter is handicapped, so will be a wheelchair involved. Will that be a problem?

Information certainly appreciated.

Go early, walk around and see the static displays which will probably also the new Marine F-35. Get a front row position on the flight line and enjoy. Be prepared for the traffic in the end. It will just be like the stadium after a game. Have fun!

Usually it is. FYI typically these events have a free component to them. In other words you dont have to pay to walk around the static displays and you can still watch the show. My advice is buy your tickets ahead of time and sit in the grandstand. Its a much better day. Lastly, the food is typically pretty terrible. My wife has a small cooler bag that we used last year for the show in Norfolk. they checked it, but let us take it in. We chose to buy drinks there to support the vendors. Lastly, before you go watch the youtube video of "Dreams" by Van Halen. It will set the mood, LOL!

The Blue Angels Youtube Van Halen piece "Dreams" is as good as it gets! Sometimes I listen to it just to get motivated. There are two or three versions on Youtube, you just have to find the right one.

It takes a long time to get in because you have to walk very far to get from the parking area to the show. Make sure you don't have anything at all sharp in your pockets! My Dad had to toss a Swiss Army Knife at the door he always keeps in his pockets... Didn't even think about it! Because, you know a 60 year old man with a pocket knife coulda easily taken over the WHOLE FREAKING MARINE BASE!?!

It was pretty cool though the last time we went...
