I have a trailblazer that's surging and losing power. It started yesterday on a two hour drive. Did it sporadically all the way home.

I hate the feeling of being ripped off by auto shops. I do need a place that can connect to the computer and pull codes. In my research I think it's either the O2 sensor or fuel pump and a lim possibility of a catalytic converter. I just need it fixed at a reasonable rate.

Any recommended guys to take it to?
My wife drives it to work so I can't leave it for a week.

I live in irmo, but will drive out a bit.

Thanks.

If it was me, I'd drive it to the nearest Toyota dealer and trade it in. You're not the first or even 5th person I've heard having issues with those things.

Seems most of the mechanics charge about the same, except the dealerships tend to charge more. I guess they all look it up in their cost book to see how many hours to charge for.
I have been using Champion Automotive in Chapin. Randy seems to be a pretty honest guy.
My girlfriend uses Irmo Tire on Woodrow St. She seems to trust them.

I have actually had almost no trouble n 11.5 years and 145k miles with it. I also own a 12 Camry hybrid that I love and really love Toyota. However we are expecting our first in nov and looking for a bigger house. With 1 year eft o pay on the car and the likelihood of daycare next year we would like to get between 1-3 more years out of it if we can fix it or a reasonable charge.

There is a place called Dallas ebel automotive near our house. I was gonna call them in the morning but was looking for recommendations from good experience.

Thanks

Try Benji Carpenter at Carpenter's on Airport Blvd. A former toyota shop guy who got tired of the games they play at the dealerships. I've been using him for a couple of years and he has been reasonable in price and very honest about what needs to be done.

I had a Toyota Tacoma that was surging/losing power when it had about 120,000 on it. It was stopped up catalytic converters (had 2). I had a shop remove them and reinstalled one after market converter and that was the only issue I had with the vehicle till I sold it at 160,000.

By far it has to be Auto Service Experts in Ballentine. I moved here 5 years ago and got ripped off by Pope Davis, AAA service center and a few others before finding these guys. they have always been honest and never done anything the vehicle doesnt need and have earned my trust by a mile in the auto service industry. I would say you really need to go there.
