I own a luxury SUV and stopped by a dealership and asked if they were interested in my car for them to purchase out-right. They came out and visually inspected the car, started it up without road-test-driving it or taking it back for a thorough inspection and then offered me on the spot the same price that I bought the used car 16 months ago (from another dealership out of town). They said they presently needed a CPO (Certified Pre Owned) car for their dealership and would be glad to purchase the car for that price.
Has anyone done this before (selling your car to a dealership) with no trade-in? Are there any red flags or concerns in doing this. Is there something I'm missing here because this sounds too good to be true with the price they're offering.

I have the Title (the first thing they asked me) because I paid cash for the car. Therefore, I assume I will be cut a check at the time of the sale. I don't need the money urgently. I am simply downsizing to a smaller, less expensive and practical car that makes more sense for our needs while putting in my pocket - cash that's left over. The profit I make will go where it originally came from - my bank account.
