We are ranked no 44. Nine SEC teams are ranked above us. Clemson not in the top 50. They are the 1st team in others receiving votes. Will we ever get the program back to where it was the last 5 years of the Tanner era?
???? Is there a problem with the morale within our team with which I am unaware? The bitching and beatings will continue until morale improves.
Go Cocks!
Lord I hope so!!! I am about DONE with the Kingston experiment!! IMO, He has this year to produce!!Preseason polls are meaningless. Having said that, I believe this is Kingston's last year if we don't make at least the supers. Or it should be his last year anyway.
It’s an old phrase that applies to anything when times aren’t going well.???? Is there a problem with the morale within our team with which I am unaware?
They are a sign of last year's program, that is about all.. But even this speaks Volumes!!Preseason baseball polls are funny.
Fans who think they mean anything are even funnier.
A preseason poll for college baseball? May be the most worthless thing ever put to paper. Every year those polls change in dramatic fashion within the first few weeks.
Agree....and the different polls vary greatly. It wasn't long ago when you used to see 6 or more ACC schools in the top 10 of one poll....it didn't last long. You can always tell the people who didn't follow baseball in the past. We were preseason #45 in the USA Today coaches poll back in 2009 and finished in the top 25. The next year we started 28th in Collegiate Baseball and won the national championship.
It's not as gloom and doom as it appears.
Yeah preseason polls are pretty much meaningless. You almost have to play for a month to get a sense of where you're at. Even then, teams get hot and cold at varying times in the year. Get to a regional, get hot (or stay hot), see what happens. You can always tell the people who didn't follow baseball in the past. We were preseason #45 in the USA Today coaches poll back in 2009 and finished in the top 25. The next year we started 28th in Collegiate Baseball and won the national championship.

I seem to remember us doing virutally nothing in baseball from '86-'99. Before Tanner, we were bottom feeders of the SEC. I hate to say it, but maybe it's wrong to think we should be a great national power in baseball again when more and more teams have surpassed us in facilities and Vandy bends the rules to get all the top talent.
It’s “where”, not “wear” captain insano! It doesn’t matter where you start, just wear you finish.
let’s get Cocky!
Who has surpassed us in facilities?I seem to remember us doing virutally nothing in baseball from '86-'99. Before Tanner, we were bottom feeders of the SEC. ... as soon as we figure out who we are and how we want to play. I'd like to see an identity emerge this year. You can bet the top tier teams will have one.Everything is cyclical. No one stays on top forever. We'll be back.
I use to be disappointed if we were not in the top 5.Jesus, for real. It felt like forever that we always had baseball to lean back on as a sport to see us in the top 10. It was more shocking to see us outside of the top 10 than in it. Even w recruiting. Now we can't even get top 30. SMH
Anxious to see what a total revamped line up will do. Pitching will have to come up big. There are those who understand college baseball.
And those that don't.
Preseason polls are a good way to differentiate between the two.
I appreciate that unusually optimistic post!!😁 Merry Christmas! You can always tell the people who didn't follow baseball in the past. We were preseason #45 in the USA Today coaches poll back in 2009 and finished in the top 25. The next year we started 28th in Collegiate Baseball and won the national championship.
