For the few regular posters on here that believe the baseball program is going downhill fast..

I would like to see your perceptions of the games going into this series.

How do you feel the team will do this weekend against UGA?

If we sweep UGA, does that change your opinions at all?

Would you prefer the team lose tonight so you can be the first one's to post on fgf about "do you believe me yet"? or how bad the coaching was or the team is playing uptight, etc...

PS.. This is not for the poster that come on here after the game to vent or praise their views..We all do that... It is more for the ones that have thrown in the towel on the team and believe without a coaching change there is no hope.

Go Gamecocks..

If we just win the series I think ware are in Dang good shape. Our standing within our conference is more important than anything else that happens.

I still have my doubts about Holbrook but celebrate wins and get irritated when we lose. If we win tonight (and I hope we do), then one thread will be titled (probably by bosox), "And to think three days ago, some idiot fans were questioning Holbrook's coaching ability". A sweep this weekend would be great. Like I've said before, we have some concerns with hitting, relief pitching and road play but there is time to get that corrected. I also hope we can get hot at the end of the season-really hoping for improvement in the postseason compared to last year more than anything (Super/Omaha).

I don't think any one is "an idiot" just for "questioning" Holbrook's coaching ability. He is a rookie head coach in this third year. However, idiots are the ones saying to fire him because, he is a rookie head coach in his third year and it's halfway through the season and with a strong finish we can still be hosting a Super Regional. It's like they are not giving him a chance this season.

We have to remember that the season is long and losing a few mid-week games does not mean this team will not be successful in the end. In 2011- we lost to Furman and The Citadel; in 2012- we lost to Wofford and Francis Marion. Both of those years were rather successful, don't you think? In 2010, we scored one run in 21 innings in the SEC tournament. I specifically recall many of us calling for a head coaching change - Boy, am I glad some of us were ignored. Perspective is key - if we can win 2/3 this weekend - we will be in great shape and very near the top in the best conference in the country. If we don't win 2/3 - there is no need to throw in the towel - there are many more games to be played.

Haha....crickets chirping. Guarantee if we were 2-0 in this series they would be circling like vultures looking for vindication.

Check that on Dabo.

Holbrook to baseball is what Whammy is to the football team.

I dont think we need to necessarily remove Holbrook as a head coach, I would like to see a legit hitting coach be brought on board.

I dont know coaches specifically but teams like College of Charleston, Kentucky, New Mexico, Ga. Tech, Indiana, etc all seem to hit the ball well most years. Even teams we've played over the years seemed to have a better approach like Maryland last year....Arizona during their championship.

I see our baseball team in a similar position as our football team, on the tail end of the most successful period in our history. Lets spend some money, get a great hitting coach, and not accept the status quo and end up in a tailspin like our football team is right now.

I think if we score more runs than the other team we will be successful...

Bright, Shrock, Mooney, and Arendas have all regressed at the plate this year. If they were performing anywhere close to the level they did last year we'd be a top 5 ballclub right now.

Darin Erstad, Dan McDonnell, Monte Lee, and Calvi are a few.

The program is fine. A coaching change could have us right back in contention in a year or two. Holbrook could end up being a decent coach in 5-7 years but I don't think it should be at our expense.
