What would it take next year for you to buy into keeping Holbrook ? What's your water mark.....SEC East...SEC Championship...Regional Championship...Super Championship...CWS appearance....I won't say winning the CWS because that would be an automatic buy in....so what will it take?

I'll support Chad as long as he has a contract with us. His job is not in danger.

I'm always satisfied with a .500 record, and anything above that is a bonus.

I edited due to realizing I was addressing a tater troll. His comments on SOS support my opinion.

If we don't AT LEAST get to the supers next year, then see ya! Just making the tournament isn't good enough for this program! Very very disappointed in Tanner. I thought he would be better than just a good old boy AD.

Ordinarily I'd agree with the first part I've bolded, but this program is in rough shape right now. Holbrook could turn into a very good coach NEXT year and still not make the supers. There are a lot of very good coaches who might not make it there with next year's team.

As to the second part, I'm not down on Tanner yet but I never liked the hire. I'm not sure why anyone thought his success as a baseball coach was of any relevance to how he would do as an AD.

I have a feeling that comments like this are due to not remembering that Ray was in administration at NCSU and that he's run the Ray Tanner Foundation all these years, with Karen. He has very good business sense, which you need to run a multi-million dollar athletic department. Also, the AD position is a huge fund raising position, and let's be honest...Ray can get blood from a turnip. However, I do think the move was sped up faster by the departure of EH to TAMU, when we weren't expecting it.

See, that is the problem. The program is in rough shape because he let it get that way. So it's not enough for him to get a little bit better than the bad we are right now. Really, I'd go along with giving him another chance if we were back to being a top 5 SEC team again, but he'd still be in hot water, and I don't really think he deserves the chance is pretty much sure to get to fix what he has destroyed.
