I reached out to Cardinal Sports Report Publisher Ben Parker about his perspective on 4-Star QB Dylan Lonergan's OV weekend with the Cardinal, and this is what he told me:
“I just heard back from Dylan's father Dan about how the visit went. Dan said the visit went really well. Dylan got to spend time with early enrollees and other recruits, spent time with David Shaw, Tavita Pritchard, and the rest of the staff. They felt like everything was really well done and that Stanford put on a great visit. They really enjoyed interacting with the faculty and felt they were really engaging with the prospective student-athletes. The weather was excellent, which was really nice. They also got to spend some time with Coach Esquer and his wife. Dan said they got everything they wanted and more from the visit.” - Ben Parker
As you know, former Gamecock Scoop recruiting editor @Zack Carpenter put in a futurecast for Lonergan back in April, and at that time I would've agreed with that 100%. Earlier today, Hector Rodriguez who writes for the Florida rivals site, 1standTenFlorida put in a Futurecast for Lonergan to South Carolina.
Lonergan has just pushed back his commitment date to July 12th, and I can’t say that sounds like someone who had his mind fully made up two weeks ago. Who is to say if it’s made up now or if he needs that extra week to consider things fully. So, I’m going to continue to hold off on any futurecast for Lonergan, but I’m not saying SC has lost him or anything either. Don't be surprised if Bama is still a factor here too.
