Will Muschamp spoke at Quail Hollow Monday morning about the Belk College Kickoff. He addressed a few things in a short meeting with the media before a lunch with the Charlotte Sports Foundation Board.

--JUCO commitments Javon Kinlaw and Eldridge Thompson are both on campus. Both are expected to compete for playing time come August. Muschamp also said 45 players, almost half the team, is enrolled in Maymester courses and the entire team will be back at the end of the month for summer workouts and classes.

--Muschamp followed up on the situation regarding current players Deebo Samuel and Skai Moore. He bashed the State Newspaper saying, “It’s unfortunate in our time an age that a student athlete is guilty until proven innocent. It’s not the legal system we have set up. You’re innocent until proven guilty. Unfortunately the way a lot of stories are portrayed is that the young man obviously did it and we have to prove that he didn’t do it. I trust our guys. Our guys said they didn’t do anything wrong, and that’s what happened.”

--Muschamp said he loves the idea of neutral site games in recruiting hotbeds. He didn't rule out potential games in Atlanta or anywhere in Florida. He said it's important to recruit North Carolina and there are three coaches on staff committed to recruiting just the Charlotte area.

--Muschamp said June and the beginning of July is an important time for the staff. It'll host 10 camps, nine of which come in July. That'll be a big time for the coaches to evaluate players and continue to build on their 2018 class.

--Muschamp said the newly-adopted December signing period has some good points. He said it'll be good for coaches to know who is coming to the university and know which recruits have reservations about coming to campus. He said it'll be interesting to see how this affects spring and summer visits and it all comes down to knowing the recruit and when he plans on announcing.

--He talked about the restriction on two-a-day practices and said it doesn't affect them much. The Gamecocks only had two or three two-a-days last season and used those more as "mental practices" to teach scheme and technique instead of about contact.
