USC is NOT the school that had its football team boycott playing games because of institutional racism

USC is NOT the school whose white football coach supported, HELL WHOLEHEARTEDLY endorsed this boycott.

USC IS NOT the school whose President, Provost, and AD had to resign because of their racial attitudes

USC is NOT the school that has seen it's minority applicants plummet in the last two years due to racial tensions on campus.

USC is NOT the team that had two players ejected in this game

USC is NOT the WBB team that has gotten in five different "dustups" this year.

USC is NOT the team that has been called dirty by other coaches in the SEC

USC is NOT the whitest team in the conference

USC IS the school that has the largest minority fan base in the conference

USC IS the school whose white AD has done everything in his power to recruit that fan base

I may add more as my rage subsidies. I sit on row 4 directly across from Dawn. The friend that I share season tickets with is African American, our section is about 50/50 racially and about 60/40 female. If someone used the reported language in our section even against the opponent I KNOW they would be asked to leave and not welcomed back!

Well put. Staley is getting all kinds of support, from Coach FM to unaffiliated national pundits at ESPN and beyond. Staley will come out of this smelling like a rose (which she is), and Mizzou will look terrible - particularly the AD. Tanner, meanwhile, will put the hammer down behind the scenes.

This rivalry has taken on some of the nastiness of our old ACC rivalries back in the day. I love the intensity, although the comments of the Mizzou AD are beyond the pale.

Let's also not forget that after the incident in the first half, the officials took a long, exhaustive review of the situation on the replay that lasted over 20 minutes. The result was that 2 Mizzou players were ejected from the game and we got 2 FTs for a technical foul called against the dirtiest player in the SEC. Nuff said.

I can deal with a little bit of dirty playing, so long as no player or fan is injured or hurt. I can deal with a lot of trash talking by the other team, if it occurs, but I prefer our team not partake of it. I can deal with yelling, taunting, insulting or throwing empty plastic bottles, but I hope our fans/team won't do it. Rather just watch a good, hard fought game than to see so much drama.

However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a team having a lot of white players, just as it is perfectly fine for our team to consist of mainly black players. I know nothing was meant by this comment, but I will pull for the black women on our team just like they were my daughter.

Btw, nothing wrong with female athletes being outstandingly attractive and academic achievers as are many on the Missery team. Read the player bios on the team website. Maybe we should give the bad behavior a pass because they look pretty good.

I am already looking forward to being present at next year's game in Columbia, and watching us beat them again.
 
I don't like seeing my school being drug down by some cesspool full of social justice warriors that only make the news for stupid reasons. We've got to get them kicked out of the conference somehow!

No it is not documented, all you have to do is look around the arena. We average 12-13k, the crowd is about 50/50. The next largest crowds in the conference.....UT averages 9,100 and MISS St averages 6,600. Totally unscientific assertion that is guaranteed 100% accurate;)

100% false! Dawn has had and recruited a number of white players in her career. She would have been thrilled to have Briana Stewart, the Samuelson sisters, etc. They chose to go to Uconn instead, just like A'ja and Alaina chose to go to USC. Not racism, just a fact!

Dawn had white players the first two or three years here, she had a white player this year who got a taste of the competition and left when she saw she was not good enough. she has recruited white players almost every year she has been here. Talent is the only color Dawn sees. She is coaching the national team and OMG half the players she invited to camp are white.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

You really need to refresh your knowledge about what happened at Missouri in recent years. By all reasonable accounts, there was no institutional racism at UM. But something triggered demonstrations and the administration folded like a cheap tent in the face of an onslaught of "activist" groups like Black Lives Matter. The drop in enrollment was not among minority applicants. Instead it was among mainstream applicants who decided that they didn't want to attend a school that could so easily be rolled by professional grievance mongers.

I don't disagree with what you say about our school and our student body. But don't perpetuate myths about what happened at Missouri.

Yeah and I left out the basketball player who is a rapist. My belief is that your AD lied and pissed on us in part to deflect from all the shitstorms ya'll got going on.

To be honest, any racism charges levied this day and time, fall pretty much on deaf ears with me, and with many others. Everything these days, no matter how mundane (today’s news of yoga being racist comes to mind), seems to be fodder for someone to scream that it’s racism. Getting to the point where if someone orders vanilla as opposed to chocolate, that will be some type of racist act.

For the record, I believe Bianca Cuevas Moore is hispanic. Could be wrong. Herbert-Harrigan's parents are from Anguilla. Staley recruits the best players she can find - white or black. You forget that she was chosen by all athletes of Team USA (black and white) to carry the U.S. flag in the Olympics. Suggesting she is racist just shows you are ignorant. 2 of her assistant coaches (which do most of the recruiting) are white.

Remember, Missouri is the school that had social justice worker and Mass Media Professor Melissa Click try to incite a mob to lynch a reporter ("we need some muscle over here") who refused to stop recording their assembly in their safe space. Watch the video. This hateful person was a Missouri professor!

I am thankful this did not happen at USC.

Missouri has some really deep problems. They really should try to solve them rather than sling discontent and bogus charges in the direction of others.
