Let me start with I love being in the best conference in college football. But at the same time it sucks. We will probably finish above only Vanderbilt when the signing period ends. How we will ever close the gap with the upper half of the SEC? I guess thats the million solar question. I have never understood why Carolina is such a hard sale. We have elite facilities (yes just recently in last 10 yrs), a top 20 stadium in size, a loyal fan base, a awesome University, and location that keeps kids from being bored. I believe everything Beamer has done will help, but we need some luck. My opinion only, if we don't win 8 games or more consistently and beat the top tier teams in the SEC occasionally we will always be a bottom dweller. I turned 43 today and have been a life long fan and always will be. Just wish we could some how turn the corner in recruiting. Because no matter the coach we will never compete for SEC championship without consistently top 10-15 recruiting classes. The upper teams have so much more talent and depth.
So for my birthday wish I selfishly wished for Gamecock football to finish 8+ wins next year, a news year day bowl with win, and a top 12 recruiting class.
