This is difficult to explain away.

We have not been ranked in the CF Top 25 (probably the Top 40) since 2014. We did receive a pre-season hype rank in 2017 (#24) but never in the regular season.

During that same 8-year drought, we've had an average recruiting rank of 17/18th. (tie)

We are the only school during that time frame to have never been ranked in the Top 25 and also average a Top 20 recruiting class. The only one.

Most schools with Top 20 recruits have made a home in the polls year after year.

This is what I can't understand either. How do you consistently recruit in the Top 20 and never have anything close to a Top 25 team? "But we're in the toughest conference..." It doesn't matter when all of the other teams in the conference who have had consistent Top 20 recruiting class are making it in the rankings.

Will Muschamp was either a horrible head coach or he was a ringer. UF and SC were both getting the best of UGA before he arrived. When he departed both teams were in shambles. Now he's the DC of the #1 team in the country. Why couldn't we even perform basics like tackling when he was here? He claimed to be spending most of his time with the defense. He's a top notch DC and hand-picked his Top 20 recruiting classes, yet can't stop anyone? It's quite odd.
