Did you attend the 1975 Carolina-Clemson game? I was there. That game was a thing of beauty, I have never enjoyed a game more than that one.

I was indeed. Pounded their butts good that year. A very satisfying outcome indeed. I’m thinking that was Carlen’s first year, but not sure.

Kevin Long was part of the dynamic duo of Kevin Long and Clarence Williams, BOTH of who rushed for over 1,000 yards in a season which was unheard of before at any school. They made the cover of Sport Magazine (I think that was the name of it).

Yes indeed, those two guys never did the kind of dancing you see RBs do today after taking a hand-off. Those guys would plow into the line and drag linebackers 7 yards after slamming into then.
