Bama always good but that run of top classes started when they hired Saban. He knows importance of recruiting as does champ

Those schools mentioned in the OP (Alabama, Texas, USC, LSU, UGA, Florida) are probably the Top 6 jobs in the country. At least 6 of the top 7-8.

So Spurrier put together the best five year stretch with classes ranked 24, 6, 22, 12, 24, 18 and 19. Hmmm, so whats more important, great coach, great recruiting rankings, the right kind of players, a little bit of everything?

Rivals scoring system can deceive in some cases. They sum the top 20 recruits in your class, so if the class is smaller than 20 and high quality the ranking will be lower.

This should definitely be Muschamp's best year so far. Not sure if he'll top Spurrier's best though.

I'd say both, and if you have only one, maybe coaching. But if you have only one, you're not gonna win a national title, probably not the SEC either.

I may be slightly off on one or both of these figures, but...

There’s hasn’t been a team over the past 15 years to win a national title without averaging a top 10 class over the 4 years leading up to said title

He never got it going until he landed those 5 stars and FINALLY a good QB who would work.

Both but Spurrier proved he can coach em up!

I think the difference between the 2 will be that Muschamp's staff will continue to recruit hard. As long as we continue to have success on the field recruiting will continue at a high level.

There hasn’t been a team to win the national title since the beginning of BCS to have less than 50% of roster 4* or 5*...Clemson was the lowest in 2016 with 51% 4* and 5*

Was saying I don't know if he'll top Spurrier's class this year. I'd bet on him doing it at some point.
