Silent commits...

Why is it that when Shane Beamer tweets out #WelcomeHome, we don't really have any idea who committed? I mean, this is supposed to be an insiders site yet I feel like I'm not getting much inside info. Now I totally understand that the writers/analysts here aren't trying to ruin the moment for the guys announcing, but we've got no hints, no futurecasts, no projections, no nothing. The only one that could have been inferred was Anthony Rose with "welcome back home" in the tweet. Do we even have an idea of who the remaining three "silent" commits are or when they'll go public

I'm old and cynical, but I believe that some of these guys are reserving a spot with us so they know they will be playing in the SEC in 2022. But if they have a big year and get offers from UGA, Bama, Oklahoma, Clemson, Florida and the rest that they will bail out on us.

I don't like being used like that, but it is how recruiting works.

Is it worth subscribing?

Give it a try.

For the cost of a cheeseburger combo per month, you’ll get videos, interviews, behind the scenes information of the recruits thoughts during the process, access to recruiting data and rankings, National Recruiting analysts come in and post information from time to time.

And, that is the short list.

Worth much more than a cheeseburger combo. More like an aged Filet Mignon or Rib Eye!

Hey there, as others have posted, you have stumbled onto the Fighting Gamecocks Forum — great for free discussion and some networking and arguing but not necessarily the place for “inside” info.

Most of our subscribers hang out on The Insiders Forum where we will post our Insider Reports, Carolina Confidentials and Inside the commitment features on committed prospects.

It’s in those content items that we want to tell you all about which prospects South Carolina is prioritizing, who else they’re competing with, and what the chances are that the Gamecocks land them.

Once a prospect commits, we want to tell you how he fits, when a reasonable expectation for him to contribute is and what it means for that position group and class in general — plus any remaining tidbits we can share on why the prospect ended up committing to USC.

It’s also there that we’ll share insight on the team itself and who is impressing and who is taking a step forward.

As for the WelcomeHomes, we are never going to a place that ruins a kids moment. It’s just not something we want to do and it can burn bridges quickly.

So we steer away from that and even steer away from Futurecasts a lot of times too because they’re available for free and end up on Twitter.

But our users who read our features usually have a pretty good idea what’s going on with Carolina targets and with coaching searches.

For example, we at no point ruined Landon Samson’s commitment today but those who read the Carolina Confidential knew that Carolina was in good shape even before the Welcome Home went out because we said this on Mon:

From what we've gathered, there's a ton of mutual interest here and it's growing by the day. Again, Samson is planning to take an unofficial visit to the school the last week of July. Put it this way, the Futurecast currently points towards Nebraska, but I'm really liking the Gamecocks position here, even without the visit taking place yet. Samson doesn't seem to want to let the process linger out either.

If any of the above sounds intriguing to you, then we’d love to have you try us out with the free trial linked below.

Thanks for listening and let me know if you have any other questions!

It’s definitely worth the price of admission for the content alone. Wes and Chris Clark are the best in the business. Collyn does a great job covering all of the major men’s sports. Great women’s basketball coverage by Chris Wellbaum. Plus they do giveaways and other contests.

Also - since this thread is about silent commits - the scuttlebutt on the interwebz is that there are 3 silent commits out there in the ether, and one or more of COach Beamer's "Welcome Home" tweets are for them. One such source indicates that two of those silents will be publicly announcing this Saturday. Also other top targets (maybe two) - not necessarily silent commits, but prospects who have scheduled public announcements - perhaps might announce immediately after July 4th.

So unless it's all a bunch of balooey, we're still in store for more hectic recruiting news over the next week or so.......

In the South, "is NO ONE going to notice" is just as proper as "is ANY ONE going to notice", and NOBODY is the same as NO ONE....... ;)
If you know this, why dumb yourself down? The verbiage you used just sticks out like a sore thumb....I like to think I'm a reflection of my: family, education, career, and society in the way that I speak, write and present myself.

Then shouldn't you be ashamed with yourself for failing so badly here? I wasn't debating political, intellectual, or philosophical theories above. I was making a simple, elementary joke. Just a joke. Nothing more.

I chose to use the grammar I did to add color to my joke. Then YOU come running in all Karen and immersed within your own feelings about how I wasn't SERIOUS enough regarding my little pitiful joke.

To which I advise: get the frick over yourself........

...and yes, by "frick", I do mean ****.......

The mystery welcome home tweets come off as awkward. It causes me to reread the tweet twice because I think I missed a name and position.
Anyway, I hope they are some elite receivers and running backs. We need em’.

There used to be a mall in Myrtle Beach called the Myrtle Square Mall. It opened up in the 1970s, but has been gone now for many years. When it was just opened, there didn't use to be the large open commons area for people to sit around and eat from little kiosk-like food businesses at the back main entrance, which existed there in the mall's final years - it was a typical entrance-way that had two restaurants on either side, just inside the entrance.

One was called Carrie Nations, and was a large restaurant. The other to the right side, was a little restaurant that I cannot remember the name of. It was much smaller. I think they fixed subs, sandwiches, cheesesteaks - mostly lunch-style meals while Carrie Nations was a full-fledged full-course restaurant. There was no wait staff - you ordered up at the counter, got your food handed to you on a tray, and found a table to sit at and eat.

Inside this little restaurant, just inside in the entrance above the door, was this sign that said, "Please Table Your Own Clean". It was there the entire time that restaurant was opened at the Mall, and it always made me laugh.

The reason why they worded it that way, was to catch the patron's attention, and better remind them to pick up after themselves and put away the trays. It was pretty effective, too.

That may be why Coach Beamer is doing his in his awkward way.......

Is it worth subscribing?
I was a subscriber years ago and signed up again just yesterday. Of all the Gamecock sites, this is the best. Pay side gives you access to more than just the insiders forum. As far as the forums go- the benefit of the insiders forum for me is that there are far leas trolls. The majority of the trolls stay on free sites as they are not real fans, or even fans of other schools who come here to manipulate people and stir stuff up. They are not going to pay to join the insiders forum…

The benefits of subscribing go beyond that- you get more in-depth analysis and access to all the articles and benefits of the site like live streams and recruiting updates. I had been planning to sign up again for a while but TBH I did it this week because of the flurry of recruiting activity- I am excited about the future but also was simply getting somewhat lost with all the “Wlecome home” tweets without names attached and with only about half the class filled I wanted to learn more about the guys we are still targeting. You get all of that of that info you could want if you move past the pay wall. JMHO

The worth of something is a value question based off what you receive for what you are paying relative to your personal financial situation. None of us can say if it is worth it for you, but if $10 a month seems like very little money for your financial situation- I think it would certainly be worth it.
