So? Are we happy with the players we signed?

If I’m honest, overall I’m a little ‘meh’. I’m very happy with the upper tier of our class (counting transfer players). Once you look over the entire class, it looks like to me we still added too high of a percentage of 3* and 2* to win big.
This is just my assessment (fwiw - which isn’t much), and not really a complaint. I feel like CSB will continue to recruit and improve with each class. It’s just going to take time and hard work by him and his staff.

Yes. Filled a few needs. Have a little more work to do but this class is a great step forward.

I was hoping for a big time receiver to compliment Rattler. Yes. I know we picked up a couple of WR commits, but until I see the contribution, I will be skeptical. As a team, I don't think we have a returning receiver that we weren't hyped about when they signed. Problem is, it is a hit or miss effort.
I also would like to see more star power in our OL.

Of course, no coach is going to publicly state that they're less than pleased with the recruiting class. And thus, this is definitely one thread where our opinions are perhaps more realistic than what the coaches will state.

I don't follow recruiting enough to weigh in, but I tend to think that there are enough 3-star recruits who end up performing like 4 and 5-star ones on the gridiron that I place less stock in those ratings.

Yes, you need talent. But you also need coachable players, and players that you as a coach can foster good team chemistry amongst themselves.

Combined with Rattler and Stogner(who I heard one announcer call Colossus in Cleats) I think we did quite well.

I think it's a pretty good class. With four 4 stars and three 2 stars, it reflects exactly the way we have to recruit, with the portal too, to be competitive. Not top tier competitive, but "winning" competitive. Work every angle you can, find players anyway you can.

The same challenges exist. With nine SEC (with Texas and OU) teams ahead of us and seven of those having double digit 4 stars, purely numerical analysis slots us in the group of 20 to 40th ranked teams. But, evaluation determines where in there, or if we creep above a little. And, the portal inches us along.

At the end of the day, this is who we are right now. I believe, and hope Beamer can help us turn it into more tomorrow.
