so who gets demoted with the hire of hoke?

It would be kind of disappointing if Hoke is not bringing anyone with him. Is Deke Adams really going to be our DL coach this year again?

We should move some of our defensive coaches to non-coaching roles. We can tell them they're getting a promotion, they're easy to fool.
I'm going to go way beyond this question. Hoke, if he does well as DC, will be our next HC. Secretly an HC in waiting. Whammy could end up right back at DC. I think Deke is expendable.
Hoke is a big time hire, tbh. He could have easily been on an NFL staff if he chose. Spurrier used his personal connections to land him
He has two good, long NFL tenures under his belt. That's pretty impressive. I've said the same thing about him as HCIW material. I think HBC also sees him as a guy who will look out for Jr down the road.
What the heck is wrong with you people, the HCIW has NEVER worked anywhere, except FSU where they fired Bowden, it was not his choice! Muschamp was at Texas and that never happened, he went to Florida and they wish he had stayed at Texas....and so on and so on. Get a grip, every time a coach has been mentioned as being hired as an asst. some of you start the HCIW thing.
Rooster59: I would be fine with him in an admin/consulting role. I have preciously stated that it is easier to teach a coach techniques and skills than it is to teach a personality. If we have coaches that relate well with players but need to improve their skill sets, then it would still be a positive.
Hoke will have complete control of the defense. So who gets demoted, you would think Adams or Botkin, but that does not make sense with the Hoke hire. That will make 3 coaches that coaches DBs for a living, not sure if Ward, Brown or Hoke can coach any other positions. But of course I think there will be more changes on the defense staff in the coming days and would not be surprise if Adams, Botkin and Brown are doing something else next year. I also think there will be some changes on the Offensive side as well, all the coaches will be back, but they will have some different duties. I look for Spurrier Jr to be the sole OC next year, but giving up the RC job to somebody else.
