Something to think about with this recruiting class is the fact that we brought in 30 players which is a very good thing. Recruiting is a guessing game to an extent, so the more players you bring in the better the chance you bring in a superstar. The last two classes we have only brought in 21 players each year (I'm guessing due to recruiting restrictions). When you combine those small recruiting classes with several defensive guys that were academically ineligible....and then layer on guys like Hampton and Quarles leaving earlier than they should have.....well we were going to have a down year on defense no matter what. Now we all know that the defense was a lot worse than it should have been, but at least Spurrier has recognized this and is bringing aboard Jon Hoke. The defense really should be much improved next year. Better coaching and an infusion of talent are just what we need.
Anyway, all I'm saying is that I am excited about next year. I am excited to have a change and look forward to seeing Hoke lead our defense!
