This very short notice of changing game 48 hours from Saturday to thirsty Thursday is daunting. Both teams have to cram their Wednesday, Thursday and Friday preparation into a day and a half. Furthermore, it is concerning that Coach Beamer admits to contacting NFL personnel for feedback on how to prepare for a short week of practice for a game. South Carolina has the firepower to win big against the Bulldogs, but I just do not know if it will be a romp.
I think that's a good thing. Reaching out to folks who have done it recently and getting their feedback is not bad.
Plus, I think he's just admitting what a lot of coaches do.
Yeah, but it comes off the wrong way to some people that Coach Beamer is not sure what to do and opens himself to more criticism and being mocked by people that want him terminated from South Carolina. I do appreciate Coach Beamer truthful statement, but I think he should have not said that yesterday.
Anyone being critical of him for checking in with teams that have recently experienced the same thing are going to be critical of anything and everything.
and pretending you have all the answers is a recipe for disaster.
Plus, I think his message was to recruits- not really fans.
I think telling the players and recruits essentially "Hey, I know what to do but just to be sure I checked with an NFL team to see what they did" is letting his players know this is what an NFL organization would do is perfect for recruiting.
He can go to those players and recruits and say "Hey, you can expect that we are going to do the same things an NFL team is doing."
Sounds about right. SC State is by far the easiest game on the schedule. Lloyd & Co. should have a big night.
