Sportsync Radio Review / Other Options?

Hi all, I'm looking to ditch the TV announcers. Tired of listening to them call the games! Would much rather listen to 1075. I have 2 questions. First, what are your thoughts on the Sportsync radio (and are there other options comparable to it?). Second, is there a way to listen to 1075 either online or through an app?

When the Sportsync radio first came out I went to a store and tested it out and wasn't impressed with it at all...I remember the quality stunk once you began to delay it. I've also read online reviews where people have complained about the 16 seconds allotted for delay isn't enough time. Depending on where I'm watching the game I'm typically either watching via cable or online. I know that online it's even more delayed than cable. So I have a hunch 16 seconds probably wouldn't be enough time for online. Anyways, I know they've come out with some newer models over the last few years so didn't know if those had gotten better as far as quality goes. At the very least this might be something I'd get my Dad (who has TWC) since that's where I watch the games most of the time anyways.

Or are there alternatives to the sportsync radio?

What about listening to the broadcast online or via an app? I know in the past when I've tried if you go to the 1075 website or app (or iHeart app) it doesn't play the live broadcast of the game. But is there somewhere I can access the audio? I have another thought to delaying the broadcast that would involve connecting a radio to my computer, delaying it in my computer, and then running it into the surround sound. Obviously that's a bunch of steps (and equipment), which is why the Sportsync is appealing, and the radios I have tend to be finicky, so if I could access an online/digital broadcast that was more reliable than through an antenna that'd be nice.

Thanks for your help!

I listen to the game using TuneIn radio app for the IMG Gamecock Radio Sports Network. Much rather listen to our boys. Tune in has great sound but is delayed 15-30 seconds BEHIND my TV set, so I pause the tv signal via my dvr till the app and Tv are in sync. Works out great for me.

USC Gameday app. I sync it up manually to TV every game (or vice-versa) using pause button. Typically, I have to pause the TV about 10-15 seconds. For the MSU game, I had to pause the app as it was ahead of the TV.

You listening to the game today or are you at the game?

Thanks guys. I'm watching the game on TV. I've messed some around with trying to listen to the radio broadcast via the apps previously mentioned. I haven't had any luck with Tunein. Via the tunein app it just says the station is not available and if I go to the tunein website it plays a national broadcast (like what you'd hear if you listened via iheartradio.) I have had some success with the South Carolina Gameday app. That does play the radio broadcast and it's ahead of the TV so I can pause the audio and sync it with the video feed. But it's been sporadic. It periodically will drop out and tell me the stream isn't available. So then I have to refresh the feed and then resync it. I don't know if it has something to do with my wireless or if it's something on their end? I think the Gameday app could be the answer, but isn't a perfect solution.

EDIT: Went back and re-read the comment about the tunein app just to see if I missed something. Apparently I did. I was looking for 1075 but apparently I needed to search for IMG Gamecock. That works and you can listen to the radio broadcast. Unfortunately that isn't going to work for me today. the audio feed is, like the commenter said, like 30 seconds behind the video. I'm actually watching the game in a hospital room and the TV doesn't have the ability to pause the video.

Thanks. Yeah, I obviously didn't read the original comment well enough to realize I was supposed to search for Gamecock IMG and not 1075. Unfortunately the audio is behind the video and the TV I'm watching on right now doesn't have the ability to pause. So looks like for today I'm stuck with the TV announcers.

If you get to watching tv with a DVR, all you have to do is pause it till radio catches up. Do it every week. But for now, tv is the best.

Update for those who care: Brought the game up on watch espn. The video feed is delayed compared to that tunein feed, so was able to pause the audio and sync it with the video. Currently working. We'll see how that works.

You beat me to it. I was also doing that just to see if it worked. You are now in business.
