Keep the negative stuff out of this thread. It is about Williams-Brice and its surroundings. If I have left anything off, please feel free to add.

I dated a girl who's rich family had a place at The Gates and 200 level tickets. I always miss her during football season.

I've become to lazy to fight with my iPhone that insists on writing the incorrect usage of a word. It becomes worse with each model it seems like. You were able to correct it and it would remember after so many times, now if you correct it, it will sometimes revert back to the way it wanted to spell it.

Locker rooms have changed since 1981...

Girders & beams all we saw and in the visitors locker room a painting of two fighting Gamecocks " Welcome to the Cockpit "

None taken. Like I said, I've just become lazy and don't even bother with it anymore. Why the grammar was better on the 4s than the 6 is what I would like to know.

What do you mean "Why the grammar was better on the 4s than the 6 is what I would like to know"?

Thanks

I have a co-worker who owns 2 upper story suites at Carolina Walk that face the stadium. He lives in one suite and commutes to work in Aiken every day. The other suite he rents out during the season. Almost rented it out to Connor Mitch's mom before the season. He even throws lavish spring game parties at his suites with ribs, steak, etc. His brothers are some of the biggest Carolina fans but he is a Clemson grad and IPTAY member and never misses a Clemson home game. No lie. I always joke with him that he's really a Carolina fan at heart because he lives so close to the action.

I will never forget when I saw my first game at WB in 1971. It was the first year of the West Upper Deck being opened and the first year of Astro Turf. I remember just looking around the stadium and saying to myself "this is the prettiest stadium I've ever seen in my life". Boy, there have been a lot of nice additions since then and all for the better.

The auto correct was much better. It would eventually learn the word(s) you were wanting to use and it was much more grammar correct. The 6 always wants to post "had" instead of "has" when you're talking present tense, it can't decipher between "who's and whose" sometimes. There's others but those stick out in my memory the most.

Thanks, I wasn't sure what you were referring to.

What year was the press box built and when was it last updated? Anyone know? I think we have one of the biggest in the country. I know that's where the 600 level seats are but I've never been up there.

Wow, I haven't been to WB since I lived in Columbia 10 years ago. We had a spot at the...Stadium Club...I think that was a name. Nothing great...a parking lot with reserved spaces and metal building with tables and chairs and a bathroom. SC / developers have really done a great job with the area around the stadium.

Good lord I had almost forgotten about the Astro Turf.......You had to go and bring that up lol

BUMP! I just love this kind of stuff.

Several years ago, there was a campus website, the purpose of which was to discuss USC campus expansion, construction/demolition, land acquisition, landscaping/beautification, town-gown issues re: the aforementioned, etc. It went dormant - the site owner just didn't have the time to give to it.

Beckham and some other good people on this Board keep ole 67 happy with their campus updates - often with great pictures, too! So, please indulge an ole Cock who loves his school/teams and the 'fixin's and dressing that these updates provide.

Thanks very much. The picture certainly shows where those places are located. We never walk to those places, we park on Bluff Rd, near the Olympia School and walk up to WB right in front of the George Rogers statute. Therefore, I don't think I have ever seen them before.
Thanks again for showing me the locations.

Um, that's too lazy. Silly iPhone:rolleyes:

Absolutely amazing pictures. Loved the drone video too a week or so ago. Thanks uscbeckham. No way we should not be competing for top talent with these facilities coming!

These facilities are NOT top notch facilities. They are average for the SEC and below the top two or three in the other P/5 conferences. Barely top 25

SGACock if you despise the Gamecock facilities so much than go cheer for some other team. If you can not see that they are currently building for the future then there is nothing else to say. Rome was not built in a day; neither will our facilities but at least we are moving in the right direction. That is what the OP was trying to show everyone. Bring back some pictures of what you consider a "top 25" facility and then we have something to debate. All I am hearing is crowing and whining for no good reason.

Our basketball and baseball facilities are IMO tops in the SEC.

Our football facilities consist of the best parking facilities in the conference unlike most of the other SEC schools that have shoehorned their stadiums in the middle of their campuses. Our indoor and outdoor practice fields are as good or better than most of the conference. Our stadium plaza and scoreboard are excellent compared to other SEC schools. Locker rooms, training, weight training and meeting rooms are outstanding. Next on the list, most likely, are a football operations center, East stands sky box, and replacement of the lower north, south and east stands.

Check out the Athletic Village re: soccer, tennis, softball, and track and field (in progress). Next up: indoor track.

I do not despise our facities. We have major league facilities.

However, people on this homer board constantly say that we have the facilities thT are so great , we should be able to recruit against anybody. Sorry, we don't. They are top 25. Not top ten.

It's an arms race (particularly with SEC and Big Ten money) We are keeping up with the Joneses - not forging to the top

The key to successful college sports facilities management is to have a plan, and then implement that plan. I believe we do.

Perhaps with your knowledge of all of the SEC and other stadiums you could provide us with some pictures and descriptions of what you consider better or greater stadiums. How 'bout it?
