Not exactly a hot bed of talent there. It's a waste of time if he's not a stud and can help out immediately!

Our next 3 recruiting classes include commits from 8 states, including one kid from Iowa. So all the folks here who complain that we need to expand our recruiting base should be very happy. right?

Why would you care where the players are from? Just win.

Wow. Talk about outing ignorance in recruiting. Yikes. This better saying applies liberally here op.

Anyone know why he's a juco? Grades, improving a part of his game for Div 1?

Could be those reasons or...lots of guys go JUCO 'cause it leaves their draft possibilities open after each season. Not locked in for 3 like if they went to Carolina, etc. straight out of high school

Commentators last night were talking about how well Louisville had recruited in the Midwest & they're pretty good! Guy sounds like the kind of explosive athlete we lack....welcome!

Good players can come from anywhere. Watch he may turn out to be really good. If he helps us win more games then I am all for it

We recruit a top JUCO player we desperately need from the defending JUCO national champs and someone still bitches about it? Typical.

Wow, so now the state someone is from is now how we determine if they are worth coming to SC? Seriously?!?!?! You ever thought that a lot of guys are doing this to be able to enter the draft sooner when going the college route. Get facts straight about the player and tell me if he isn't worth a shot here at SC.

I'm more concerned about him actually making it here. He is having a very good season and was already drafted in the 19th round after his first juco season. I'll be curious to see where he goes in the 2015 draft and if it will cause him to actually have to consider making the jump.

I'm not crazy about Holbrook but I have no problem with recruiting in the midwest occasionally. Brandon Murray was the top prospect to come out of Indiana last year.

All I was saying is Iowa isn't really a hot bed for talent, compared to some closer states to be recruited.

Never said the kid couldn't play, all I said was that I hope he's all that and can contribute right away.

A lot depends on what your needs are and how well a prospect can fill the bill. Your post implied to me it was an act of desperation that we had to go that far for a prospect.

I heard, and I'm not too sure if this is true, but in the state of Iowa the high school baseball starts in Mid-May and go into June.

So, there might be some talent in Iowa..
