DEFENSE

Positive Points
1) adjustments are made throughout game to address other teams’ strengths. This aspect of our game was missing in recent years.
2) team blitzed more in 2 games than all of last season
3) playing better as a team, than a group of individuals
4) mistakes made but attitude remains positive
5) tacking in open space and in general, is much better than past seasons

NEGATIVES

1) aggressive tackling (which needs to be refined) resulting in too many cases of potential “Targeting”
2) too many excellent plays followed by taunting and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, resulting in other teams drives being continued

These issues are correctable by the coaches by emphasizing more discipline on the field. Celebration is good but must be tempered.

OFFENSE

Positive Points

1) Number of Running backs increases team versatility, as all display different strengths and styles. Coaches can use the ones that work best on the other team
2) Wide receivers are catching the ball, unlike recent past seasons and are gaining yards after catches
3) special teams are really special, much different than Muschamp teams,
4) play calling is not as predictable as prior seasons

NEGATIVES

1) Offensive line. Too many players blocking Casper or blocking the same man with no one blocking the guy next to him. Hope this can be corrected by the coaches as the season progresses. This is a huge issue.
2) Lack of running QB. Hopefully, this issue is diminished with return of Doty.
3) better control of ball by running backs and wide recivers. Too many times were they stripped of the ball which killed drives and loss of touchdowns

Overall

Many mistakes were made in EC game but team never quit.
