If fired last year we owed Muschamp $18.75 million.

This year we owe Muschamp $15.3 million. BUT, we also owe Bobo $1.2 million. Total owed now $16.5 million.

Difference between firing him last year and firing Muschamp/Bobo this year in buyout money is $2.25 million.

BUT, that's not the only difference. If we were going to hire Beamer for so cheap, his salary has to be factored in if hired last year.

Total if fired last year $21.5 million(Muschamp buyout of $18.75 million plus Beamer salary of $2.75 million)

Total since fired this year $21.1 million(Muschamp/Bobo buyout of $16.5 million plus another year of full $4.6 million Muschamp salary)

Total difference between firing Muschamp last year and this year $400k!!!!!!!

$400k saved in order to have the 90th ranked recruiting class by going with a lame duck/hot seat coach for another year.

Way to think it through, U of SC, way to think it through.

I totally agree, WM should have been let go last year. He was gifted Bobo this season but outside of Bobo WM has proven he can't hire an effective OC. On top of that, he could never stop meddling in the offenses, calling for things like "tempo" and "all gas no brakes" without taking into account our personnel, talent or capabilities. Also, our teams were often unprepared for big games, especially after a big win, and we never made adjustments to the gameplan during our games. WM would also often run the clock out going into the half, bungle our 2 min offense at the end of the game, kick fieldgoals when down multiple TDs, etc. The writing was on the wall by the end of last season for sure.

The (BOT) are lawyers. The only math computation they're capable of performing is 40% legal fee charges x the total settlement/jury finding.

I think we have Caslen to thank that we finally parted ways with Muschamp. There wasn't much he could do about the situation last year. Can't come in after 5 months on the job and cut a check for nearly $19 million to get rid of a coach. We needed Tanner to make that call last year, but he wasn't up for it. I think Caslen said "enough of this shite" this season.

The difference is if we made the decision last year we’re probably rolling with Kiffin instead of Beamer . I’m on board with Beamer but mark my words , 10 years from now we will be kicking ourselves in the nuts for not hiring Kiffin last year .

You'd have to add in BMac's salary last year also....as he wouldn't have left if Bobo wasn't brought on to be OC.

It could've been handled the same way. He took his ball and went home because he was mad he got demoted. Also, mitigation would have made it minimal.

Either way, it doesn't justify keeping him another year. $400k or even $1.5 million max given your scenario that is not guaranteed.
