The team had a letdown saturday against Missouri after 2 emotional big weeks. This happens in sports something we gotta live with.

Yes, I felt like this may be a trap game. winning when they were underdogs. Everybody was patting them on the back, put them in the top 25 and Boom, a big lost and back to reality.

That's true if you're not serious about football. There shouldn't have been any "emotional letdown" whatsoever. It's not like we knocked off BAMA or UGA the week prior. We've beaten three non-conference teams, one UK team without it's QB who just got mashed by UT last weekend and a 3-4 A&M team which lost to App State in their building.

We had a 3-4 Missouri team traveling across country and playing in our stadium. You've just cracked the Top 25 for the first time in years. It should have been the opposite of an emotional letdown. Missouri played the solid game we should have played during Homecoming.

Problem is it was entirely predictable. If you knew there was a good chance there would be a letdown, shame on you for not doing a better job to guard against it.
That said, I'm not sure it was a letdown. We were exposed for what we are by a better game plan.

Hopefully we'll finish the season strong. However, the idea that we stumbled against Missouri on homecoming because of an emotional letdown from beating a 3-4 A&M the week prior is setting the bar directly on the ground.

Totally agree. The "emotional letdown" 'from the media and the coaching staff are just deflections for playing poorly. It's Muschamp talk. If A&M doesn't all but hand us 17pts within the first two minutes of the game through a series of errors, we lose that game too.

Had nothing to do with emotions. They beat us in the trenches, badly. They dominated time of possession, and field position. Our average starting field position was our own 21. Really hard to go 80 yards against to top 25 defense.

Agree. That's why it was frustrating when Beamer starts off his post press talking about "trying all week to avoid an emotional letdown." He just floats that out there right off the bat. Of course, he would never claim that as an excuse, but he'll immediately placed the idea into the discussion as fodder.

I don’t like the live and die approach of staying with a player that is struggling. It’s not a good look. Good leaders make tough decisions. Quit blaming everyone else .

Hire slow and fire fast ..

We just plain got out coached on both sides of the ball. Not much else you can say. They had a good game plan and executed it well. Not sure if we even had a game plan.

I'm thinking of a Mike Tyson quote.

"Everybody has a gameplan until they get punched in the mouth."

Our game plan was to run Lloyd. When he got banged up there was no plan B.

Anybody can have a bad game. Why not use another guy. Dabo benched his QB and the backup help beat Syracuse.
I agree Luke should have played by mid 3rd quarter. But that backup at clemson was 2-8 and looked terrible. He made one decent play, the two point conversion. Dabo literally played him because DJ couldn't stop turning the ball over. And Dabo knew his team could just physically manhandle the other team if they just didn't play dumb.
