The Grope Thread

I am a Gator and all the information I posted about Clemson's players and the health of their team this year vs last year was available in a front page ESPN article.

If you can't understand the Florida-Clemson connection (they want us to beat you every year, we want them to beat FSU every year...there's a natural affinity amongst our programs), I can't help you. We realize you kind of have the same deal with FSU. It is what it is. And losing recruits to Clemson hurts us a lot less than losing them to FSU, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, etc., so I hope Clemson continues to clean house in our state.

But back to the original point: I don't see there being any shenanigans leading to a brawl in this one because Clemson is going to handle Bama straight up. They don't need to play any mind games and try to get the psychological edge - they're just the better football team. Bama's only hope is Clemson's bus not making it to the stadium because, once it arrives and they step out onto that field, it's ballgame. Bama can't keep pace with Clemson on offense this year - they may slow Deshaun down some here and there, but not as much as Clemson's D will stifle Bama's already-limited freshman Hurts. I'll go ahead and call it right now...this one isn't even going to be close: Clemson-42 Alabama-17.

I mean, look, I get it - it's annoying to have a rival running the show like that. It was for us in 2013, but you've just got to be realistic. Just like in 2013, where FSU was the best team, you've just got to say Clemson's got the better team even though you hate them. The key is learning from it and using it to motivate your own program to be better. That's what we're trying to do at UF. That's we have the indoor facility now and are spending another $60 million on a new stand-alone football-only facility. It's about being inspired by programs like Clemson's facilities, etc., and keeping pace.

I am astonished by that myself. People that are otherwise excellent people - except for an orange affiliation - who don't see anything wrong with the issue. The cult-like mentality of those orangeally-challenged is really disturbing.

Boulware is proving himself to be a disgusting human being.

C'mon! Wilkins just moved on that Buckeye like a b*tch!!!

Plus, "it ain't no worse than what Woody Hayes did to poor ole Charlie Bauman back in '78."***

*** Actual quote from a co-worker earlier this week.

If anyone says anything negative, attack, attack, attack.
If anything bad happens, deny, deny, deny.
If they get caught, minimize, claim everyone else does it, he was kidding, etc.
They have never acknowledged any wrong doing of any kind, regardless of evidence.
Everything is blamed on someone looking to cause them trouble, they are poor innocent victims and the unclean heathens accusing them should be stoned.

Yeah, I understand it. They gave y'all Charlie Pell...how'd that work out for y'all? Your HOF coach hates them so much from his Duke days he reportedly completely de-emphasized the orange in UF's uniforms.

oh ffs. you are truly obsessed about this. no. nor do people get charged in football games with assault and battery for vicious tackles or for targeting. nor do porn stars get charged for sexually assaulting each other, even in rape fetish videos. if you step onto a football field, or inside a wrestling ring, you agree that you are setting aside your normal privileges against assault and battery.

Does that mean you can pull out a knife and stab someone during a football game? Just curious exactly what rights your are setting aside for a football game...

To be honest, i think it comes to intent. I dont think the intent of clemson players in the game had anything to do with any type of sexual gratification, where as grabbing a girls ass at a party or watever is intentended to be a taunt.

Seems like a certain president-elect was vilified for just speaking of similar inappropriate conduct.

Depends on how you look at it: yeah, there was probation, but Pell also started more Gator booster clubs than any other coach and laid the groundwork for what Gator Boosters, Inc, would eventually become. Spurrier can be a weird guy - part of me suspects he falls somewhere on the Autism spectrum. Anyhow, I just know the all-orange uniforms have been back in force the past few years (wore them for our big upset of Ole Miss last year and for our shocking win in Baton Rouge this year). They're a big hit with recruits and, again, I think part of it is the Clemson phenomenon. Kids see how that all-orange looks on the big stage and they want a part of it. There used to be sort of an anti-orange sentiment in the sports world, but Clemson has made it fresh again. Teams with orange as part of their color scheme are now emboldening and highlighting it instead of trying to minimize or hide it.

No. We don't pull for FSU when they play against Florida. We don't pull for any ACC team when they play against the SEC. Spend some time with some Clemson fans and you will quickly change your mind about rooting for them.

Be sure to check back in here Tuesday, tater

Sometimes the line between criminal negligance and just plain stupid can be a thin one,not always, but sometimes is. That president elect was very stupid for making the remarks he did. They were very adolecent and immature, but whether or not the actions he so stupidly spoke about are actually criminal or not depends on whether or not the victim views the actions as unwanted or forced thereby making the actions criminal

You good Grumpy, no biggy. I mean I see your point anyway. You post here fairly often and are a good ol' Dawg fan so its all good.

It's just the comments that bowlwear made in that ignorant interview that blew this issue up into space!!

JMHOFWIW

I try to be reasonable and peaceful on the boards I post on. Now to Bowlware, if I saw him walking down the street wearing the capri pants I would bet he was gay, when I was about 20 I would have told him I thought he was, and to the Clemson fans no he wouldn't put a hurtin on me and then for him to defend the action like he has and the tater, I can use tater as a Dawg fan can't, they just look like idiots

Exactly. The BS they claim regarding family-oriented, Christian-based, wholesome, etc. sounds so cultish. Not that those traits are cultish, just the way they state it despite all signs otherwise.

handle 'fondlegate' on his own without legal counsel and/or professional public relations assistance.

The second mistake was in handing over to that moron, Boulware, the primary media communications job for this major, major mess in Dump Valley!

The third mistake? 'Oops! communication from Dabo - the fool backed up Boulware!

Clemson has a mess on their hands and they don't know what to do about it.
I'll take that mess if it landed us in two natty games....Dabo has done more for clem than any of our last (how many ever coaches we have ever had), has done for USC

it isn't that we don't see anything wrong about handling somebody's package. It's that we can't believe you guys are still talking about this a week later. Just let it go. You've turned a couple seconds of bad judgement on Wilkins' part into some week long Zapruder dissection of the moment. Wilkins apologized. Boulware said he shouldn't have done it. Samuels didn't know anything had happened. Everything else is just people clutching at pearls while exiting onto the fainting couches.

Clemson has been doing this for a long time. I remember when Duce Staley had a high ankle sprain and they would twist it in the pile. Whatever it takes and whatever you can get away with. They are like the Irish Travelers of CFB

I really don't know what he was trying to achieve by saying all this. They are digging themselves into a hole figuratively and physically.

It was kinda funny at first, completely wrong... but funny. But now seeing how some players and Clempson fans are defending it.... what is going on with people's mindsets?
giphy.gif
yes, cant wait to see this happen in baseball, basketball, etc......oh wait, you dont....i wonder why

Mark Sanchez is out of the woods as the butt fumbler, now Clemson is in as butt hole pokers or shockers

It's more about their lack of humility and how they belittle their opponents in this way. Totally classless just like Watson's shooting his arrow off after a touchdown. Can't ever imagine Marcus doing this sort of thing as he knew how to win with class, unlike the Taters who imitate the obnoxious personality of their head coach.

Pegged it to the letter.

They just recently arrived at the airport in Tampa and Dablow proclaimed the team will have quiet time tonight to thank the Lord for their chance to play for a championship. Dablow...God does not care if you are playing a game.

You seem to care......

Enough about them!!!!!!!!!!!!

So now y'all are trying to justify your sick team's behavior by comparing a spoof story of inadvertent grabbing while attempting to make tackles to intentional acts of molesting after the play is long over. Try again dumbass redneck.
So what you're saying is that THIS All-In Pickens County , SC......

I suggest you look at some before and after pictures of USC facilities before making such a statement.

We turned it into something? Do you have cable? Watch ESPN for 15 minutes during sportscenter or any other sports related talk show and the taint tickling will be talked about. It ain't just "us". The entire sports watching nation is talking about it. Don't you think it's about time Dumbo spoke up about it? I mean, normally he can't wait to flap his gums.

Clemmies decide to 'play ball' as usual. You know. Getting overly chummy with Saban's boys.

For decades, Bama has been the elite of the elite in college football. 'Roll Tide' - too many NC's and SEC championships to count - super legendary coaches - no other college football program can compare to 'The Tide'.

Bama's teams are nearly always serious, focused, no nonsense, but above all - they win. Even though their rivalry with Auburn is one of the most bitter cross state rivalries in America, they also have super rivals in LSU, Tennessee, UF, UGA in the SEC and SoCal, Texas, OU and others on a national level . . . and I don't ever recall in all the years that I've watched Bama play on tv (and a few times 'live') a wholesale brawl involving the Tide - actually, I don't recall much pushing, shoving, jawing, late hitting . . . let alone any, ahem, 'touching' techniques. Bama is just too damn good. Too professional acting. Too disciplined.

We shall see . . . soon.

It can get nutty...

Its cold as crap here and i been sipping on rum for nearly 2 hours myself, mostly because I can and being thankful one of my star athletes doesn't walk around in capri pant and I don't have to look like an idiot defending it him from groping opposing players when they are on the ground. I seriously think it has something to do with the color orange, look at the places who have orange in their colors, UT, UF, CU and AU. And that damn purple, what redblooded American male wants to wear purple?

I'm not sure it's sexual assault
But it's pretty weird.
If they pulled that shit on me I'd get up and beat the crap out of them

The tigers are a great football team, that is beginning to become very arrogant and are not good at handling success. It's ok with them bc their head coach is a straight up douchebag. But their time will come.

Then they will just be a average football team, that enjoys grabbing guys balls and fingering their buttholes

God they are clowns

The nature of degenerative behavior is that it degenerates over time into a greater degree of degenerative behavior. Perhaps the next step in Tater sports is celebratory biting of another player's p_ n _s. I kid you not. Some European football (soccer) players have done this after scoring a goal. Whether this behavior will be adopted by the Tater football team or the soccer team has not yet been determined.
