They nailed that halftime show. Well done.

Incredible!!
Katy Perry has got guts to ride that little platform up in the air like that.
Amazing!

I don't usually watch the halftime show but this one was really good. I was hoping Lenny would do American Woman with Katy Perry. That would have been great.

That's funny, thought it was terrible & cheezy! If you had kids, hearing kissed a girl & liked it was not good either..

100% disagree! It was wardrobe malfunction or bust in my eyes! Sadly.......didn't happen.

For the kind of music she performs it was spot on...unless you like this genre of music you probbaly thought it was crap.
I'm sort of on the fence, don't love her music overall but think she is talented and she is a good performer.
I really liked the Bruno Mars one from last year - that dude is super talented

i didn't even know who katy perry was until last night. but i do now. that was the best halftime show i ever saw in my like. all except the rap song. that was horrible. not even a good rap song. fwiw, i didn't think the sharks were cheesy in the least. i got a kick out of it.

fwiw, the second best half time show i ever saw was the citadels band at half time of one of our games, about 20 years ago. they were awesome. got a standing o from our crowd.

Hmm. I'd prefer that they have The RH Chili Peppers back next year.

JMHO FWIW (NTIRM)

I agree 100%. Love it! Best halftime show in years!

"If you had kids, hearing kissed a girl & liked it was not good either.."

Oh please...what a stupid comment! Geez...small minded ignorance!

Your 2 year old could follow along with that music? I highly doubt that a 2 year old could decipher anything about that show other than "ball", "shark", "fireworks", "lion", etc.... A 2 year old isn't going to watch that halftime show and make a life choice about sexual orientation. Wow.

th

I would rather my two year old be exposed to last nights halftime show than watching elderly wrinkly stone bags from England rock down 30 years after their prime. Not that I don't respect it....I just don't want to watch it. I put Perry's second to Prince as best halftime, but I am bias.

^
coastguard. the Stones rock and will always rock. They're rock legends. Katy Perry is a no talent whose audience consists mostly of 14 to 16 year old girls. At least the Stones don't have to sing about kissing dudes to get attention and sell records.

I didn't say he could "follow along" however, I don't want him exposed to it, so I choose not to watch it. I don't want to listen to it, so I choose not to watch it. For those who enjoyed it, or like that music, they are free to do the same. I didn't start the conversation about it, however, someone made a comment about it being wrong for another person to not listen to or watch it, b/c of the lyrics in one of the songs. I asked why that person perceived him/her as "simple" minded" b/c they have a traditional view of family values.
I am sure I'll get blasted with a bunch of speak about tolerance and being too old fashioned and the same old crap. But, it's my tv, and I choose not to tolerate it, so I turned the channel.

Come on now. Those Japanese game shows are pretty funny. Our game shows don't come close.

Speaking primarily from a Super Bowl halftime perspective. I look at how the halftime show appeals to all audiences, last nights did pretty well. Not too graphic, and entertaining at the same time. I am not knocking the Stones music, but I don't want to see them on stage at 70 or whatever they are. I was also referring to the subject of two year olds viewing the half time show as well. Not music quality or genre. I personally would rather see the field full of a high school or college bands than watching these entertainers at halftime.

I saw most of it and I liked it.

Agree on the song- but most kids have no idea what it means anyway- they just like the music.

Couldn't stand the rap part- but I hate 99% of rap. I prefer to hear people that can actually sing and carry a tune.

This. Missy Elliott was out of left field.

is it closed minded to think that there exists an all powerful, all knowing, all loving Being who wants abundant life for us and therefore wants to keep us from behavior that separates us from the love he wants us to know? To me it's closed minded to think there is no greater moral being than us and that we need look no further than ourselves for our moral barometer.

Finale was awesome.
I thought the half time show was awesome, but our whole family is quite musical, so we appreciate many different genres of music. Katy Perry is the daughter of a Pentecostal pastor. She has an interesting story, and her music reflects her experiences and journey that have made her who she is. You can appreciate her more if you know her story whether you like her music or not. I also have 2 daughters (11)(8). I have to take an interest in the artists and music of their generation to see what the ideologies and content they are exposed to. We limit their exposure to anything we don't think is age appropriate, but you cannot put a bubble around them. As a child of the 60's and 70's, I was never able to talk to my parents about real life because they were so out of touch with it. Those 2 decades were quite a departure from the ones they grew up in.

I could have done without Missy or Kravitz. They didn't add anything to the show except give Katy Perry a breather before her next number, but overall, I'd say they nailed it. It was visually amazing on TV. I wonder what the experience was like being there.

The super bowl halftime is not just for you, it's for everyone. You have Katty P for pop, Missy E for rap & Lenny K for rock. They couldn't of done a better job with picking the entertainers to cover multiple genres.
