That part was a little goofy, but it matched the song.Originally posted by msc1992:

100% disagree! It was wardrobe malfunction or bust in my eyes! Sadly.......didn't happen.
i didn't even know who katy perry was until last night. but i do now. that was the best halftime show i ever saw in my like. all except the rap song. that was horrible. not even a good rap song. fwiw, i didn't think the sharks were cheesy in the least. i got a kick out of it.Originally posted by Cock-a-Doo:
For the kind of music she performs it was spot on...unless you like this genre of music you probbaly thought it was crap.
I'm sort of on the fence, don't love her music overall but think she is talented and she is a good performer.
I really liked the Bruno Mars one from last year - that dude is super talented
Your 2 year old could follow along with that music? I highly doubt that a 2 year old could decipher anything about that show other than "ball", "shark", "fireworks", "lion", etc.... A 2 year old isn't going to watch that halftime show and make a life choice about sexual orientation. Wow.Originally posted by Ratheolcoach:
"small minded ignorance"? What's small minded about traditional family values? I turned it on the puppy bowl. We have a 2 year old at home, and I don't want him exposed to crap like that.
Come on now. Those Japanese game shows are pretty funny. Our game shows don't come close.Originally posted by ReadR00ster:
I would have thought it was the greatest show ever, if I was japanese.
I saw most of it and I liked it.
Agree on the song- but most kids have no idea what it means anyway- they just like the music.
Couldn't stand the rap part- but I hate 99% of rap. I prefer to hear people that can actually sing and carry a tune.

Concur. They have farting contest that run on network TV over there.Originally posted by uscbeckham:

is it closed minded to think that there exists an all powerful, all knowing, all loving Being who wants abundant life for us and therefore wants to keep us from behavior that separates us from the love he wants us to know? To me it's closed minded to think there is no greater moral being than us and that we need look no further than ourselves for our moral barometer.
gee, a thread about a super bowl halftime show turned into a tard-fest. gee, who could have possibly predicted that?Originally posted by bosoxcock:

that's not the only thing out of left field
I thought the half time show was awesome, but our whole family is quite musical, so we appreciate many different genres of music. Katy Perry is the daughter of a Pentecostal pastor. She has an interesting story, and her music reflects her experiences and journey that have made her who she is. You can appreciate her more if you know her story whether you like her music or not. I also have 2 daughters (11)(8). I have to take an interest in the artists and music of their generation to see what the ideologies and content they are exposed to. We limit their exposure to anything we don't think is age appropriate, but you cannot put a bubble around them. As a child of the 60's and 70's, I was never able to talk to my parents about real life because they were so out of touch with it. Those 2 decades were quite a departure from the ones they grew up in.Originally posted by uscbeckham:
