Miami is not very good. They too dont have a win over a ranked opponent... just like clemson. There is no way to justify the acc getting two teams in. No way.
If CU beats SMU, SC better not be left out....If CU beats SMU, can the ACC be left out?
If CU beats SMU, can the ACC be left out?
Nope. CU would be in the playoffs.
IDK but I'd hate to think every time we beat them I have to hope they win their conference. LOLDoes this help our chances? I don't want Clemson in at all but if they beat SMU does that help our chances more?
I'd accept another chance to beat their asses again if that's what it takes for us to get in.IDK but I'd hate to think every time we beat them I have to hope they win their conference. LOL
Idk, I think we’re ahead of bama, they lost to vandy and ou. Of course, ole miss lost to KentuckyThe question really comes down to which 4th SEC team gets in? We probably pass Ole Miss but I don't know that we did enough to pass Bama-as much as they are loved by the committee.
I sure hope so. I agree. Just hope the committee does. If Clemson won the ACC (yeah it sucks), would that help our resume in the end?Idk, I think we’re ahead of bama, they lost to vandy and ou. Of course, ole miss lost to Kentucky
Well we did just beat the team that the committee thought was good enough to move above Bama last week. Kinda depends on how much stock the committee puts in their own decisions I guessThe question really comes down to which 4th SEC team gets in? Trust me I agree. My perfect scenario is us in, Bama and Clemson out.Well we did just beat the team that the committee thought was good enough to move above Bama last week. Kinda depends on how highly the committee thinks of their own decisions I guess
Recipts.Well we did just beat the team that the committee thought was good enough to move above Bama last week. Kinda depends on how much stock the committee puts in their own decisions I guess
Recipts we have. We need the goal posts to stay still.Recipts.

While it's a fair argument, I think we pass ole miss who whipped us head to head. If that happens, it proves head to head is not always the final tipping point. That head to head factor is hard to overcome.
I keep thinking if the roles were reversed. We'd insist that head to head was the first tie breaker.

That would be true. I'm just not sure, removing the emotional attachment, that i would agree with it though.
It's an old trick, but the "if we were the other team" idea is valid. We'd be pissed if a team we beat jumps us.
It would be nice if the committee even listed some of their decision making processes. Tell us up front that head to head or SOS matters first, etc. But that's a pipe dream.
Yep, probably will come down to us and Bama. Miami has no quality win outside maybe UF, who turned it around at season's end but is still a 7 win team. Ole Miss beating Miss State by 12 isn't moving the needle.During the LSU/OU game, they showed the "teams on the edge". They showed us, Miami, smu and Bama. We had a better SOS than Miami and smu, of course. But we had the same record and worse SOS than bama. And they had a top win of Georgia, where our highest rank win was clemson.
That and the head to head leaves us with "momentum" as our selling point. They didn't list Ole Miss stats.
... and next year the acc will start the season with six teams ranked and we will hear this is not gonna be your typical acc conference this year and that this year will be the exception. And then they will go on to finish the year with three teams left in the rankings and of those three probably one will truly have the resume to be there. Wash, rinse and repeat. Year after year. Obviously it's good to have connections. It will be a travesty if Clemson gets in and we don't.
Right now, Clemson is 9-3 and 0-2 against ranked opponents.
We're 9-3 and 4-3 against ranked opponents.
The only ranked opponents Clemson has played are SEC teams. The ACC is a joke.
Yep, I think they only beat maybe one or two teams with actual winning records-not even top 40 teams. It will be a travesty if Clemson gets in and we don't.

That's probably the most disappointing thing to me that has come out of the new playoff system... SOS seemingly taking a back seat to inclusion.Every spring we hear how sos will really matter this year, then every winter it really doesn’t.

I'm beginning to think it wont come in until we go to and stick with computer rankings from start to finish.Well, when does it come in? When records are equal? Or within one game?
To be honest, if SOS weighs more than record, we can just have a B10 and SEC playoff and ignore the rest.
Which is what might end up happening in the end anyway.

... soon to be drunk on power and control if they aren't already. The committee is like the government. You can’t trust it in any way.
Agree. I’m thinking the committee is kinda sick of seeing Alabama as a contender for the Natty and may leave them out of consideration for that reason alone. The committee is like the government. You can’t trust it in any way.
