This portal thing reminds me of building a team with Jr College players

I had this conversation earlier, irl. Standard recruiting is pretty much always behind the 8 ball in Columbia, with clemson and the sec as competition.

Transfers are the new way to stock up on some disgruntled playmakers.
Yep! Any talented players from Clemson that happen to land on this board should be aware that we would love for you to transfer to Columbia and be a part of something that’s on the verge of shaking up the SEC east! Open arms. Venables was the man, we understand… but you can transfer here and have some fun making history under The Players’ Coach!!! Dabo never really was relevant.

I think I preferred the taters that came across as too negative as opposed to the ones that play the overly positive game.

Yeah...I remember when we had our connection to Georgia Military College. I thought we got some great kids/talents out of there during HOltz's run. Although....I think some were involved in the issues toward Holtz's departure. I still think that was a little more of the young guys knowing nobody was at the wheel during the impending transition.

I don't like the new order of college football, but this is our best chance to get better sooner. Of course, as we are already seeing, it's a two-edged sword. I'm thinking, though, that some of the people who leave either don't have the "chest" to compete, of have been encouraged to explore other options.

Don’t mind the portal for a one time move with immediate eligibility. We all have made a choice we wish we could go back on. However, after a player uses it once, the next move should result in sitting for one year.

I believe that's the way it is, right? After the first transfer, you have to sit out a year the next time?

Embrace change . Sabin went from a defensive minded coach to offense in about one year . There are many WR's available in the portal & lb's .

Maybe just setup a college football draft and a college football players association to make it legal. Once drafted then negotiate a contract. Also allow college teams to trade players.
