They really could have used her big time. USA lost to Canada by 8 points in the gold medal game.

It looks like UConn players led the scoring on both teams. Canada was led by UConn Soph who scored 33 points. Anyone who thinks UConn isn't loaded again for next year is kidding themselves.

The also have their next "Breanna Stewart" coming up as well as a girl doing just about as good as A'ja Wilson in the U19 national team. That team also has a little point guard Uconn commit that looks like another Moriah Jefferson, and another guard that can really shoot 3s. Really every player they get is a good shooter. They just reload. They aren't going anywhere. Winning National Championships do that.

Coates may have done more but the refs decided to call every little ticky-tack thing against her after the last several games of letting the other teams just maul her. So she couldn't get any PT in this game.

The girl from Kentucky was awful in place of Mitchell. TM's injury pretty much cost the US gold. Not that I really care...I'm much more concerned about her health for the upcoming season.
