Beat writers LW writes "he carved up South Carolina with one leg tied behind his back .Do not try to temper expectations for what he can do .He is simply that good, the total package of talent awareness and maturity and the ability to navigate a game in an unruffled way. Well Mr. Williams, I can't wait to see this man with godlike powers take the field at Willy B vs John Hokes boys. I expect Superboy will fear for his life.
 
seriously...what makes you think, before any game has been played, that anyone will be shaking in their boots, cleats, shoes or anything else. Until we play again, I would suggest most teams hope they are down 2 scores with less than 4 min to go, they know they have us right where they want us. Now, by game 3 it might be different, but for now, I suspect no team is scared of our defense...think before you post.

Ward failed to dial up many, if any blitzes, even though we knew he had a torn ACL? The 'pass' play that CU ran, which is basically a hand off, ballooned Watson's stats for the game. The REAL question is this. Can the kid stay healthy enough to make it through a season? I'll admit he's got a lot of talent and potential. However, part of one season does not prove he is the next Connor Shaw.

I'm sure he will be shaking,especially on that one leg.But watson on one leg is better than any two leg quaterback on gamecock roster.

Wow bragging about carving up our defense. LOL so did Tenn, Auburn, Tex A&M, Kentucky, Georgia etc. Any Gamecock fan will acknowledge Watson worked us over last year. Heck after 5 straight it was bound to happen at some point. If what he did to USC last year is what they are basing this on then they may want to temper their expectations going forward. I don't know how much better USC will be overall next year but our defense this year should be signficantly improved. We'll see how mr all world does at the Brice next year and then we can discuss. That's if he doesn't get hurt before then. He seems to be a bit injury prone but I wish him good health.
 
well he did....in every game hes been in hes played quite well.....until he tanks, i wouldnt say anything about him....i do know his durability sucks.....thats his downside

That's exactly what happened. We allowed a one legged QB (freshman at that) carve us up and we were to stupid to give him a shot that would sideline him.
