Tough loss for Clemson. I’d be melting down too if Carolina lost. I was in meltdown mode up until the last two minutes. And still disappointed that we didn’t win by at least two touchdowns.

People forget how much talent Clemson still has on their roster. That was the second most talented team we played all year. Only team with more talent was Bama.
Those first two deep throws were both PI's the first on us and the push off on the sideline by them, that was their offense was all circus catches, pretty amazing, but it happens! I was really surprised there were very few penalties, I think one for 5 yards on us for the first half!

They could save that money, as all their points come off busted plays. Their OC called few plays that actually worked as planned.
He told me that Clemson should learn how to tackle.

I have to Disagree, I feel Ole Miss and A&M has as good talent as TATERS..
We played several teams that were just as talented as Clemson and more so. Alabama, TAM, LSU (coaching is their issue, not talent), and Ole Miss. Clemson s downfall will be the portal. If they keep losing players to it and not getting players from it and then depend on kids out of high school to match up, their fall won't take long.
Clemson's primary issue has been Dabo's reluctance to embrace the NIL and pay for players.
There's been many articles written about this and I've posted a few of them here as well.
I'm not sure how much longer he'll be able to hang onto that mentality and continue to cash $10mil checks.
However, if they win on Saturday and get in the playoffs, he might be able to kick the can down the road another year.
With regard to the portal, there's no real science.
Any team can obviously start utilizing it at any moment in time, and probably will.
Computer models (esp. AI) can quickly evaluate talent and also determine if a player might be a good fit for a need.
The rest is instinct, eye test, etc.
Having a quality staff for talent evaluation and fit is essential.
Didn't know that about the NIL up there. Wow. In this day, not using the portal and not supporting nil is a double whammy. Dabos seat might get hot quick despite the big trophies if that doesn't change.
The way I've heard it described, they spend their money on "retention". But not the portal and not recruiting.

Clemson will surely win. Doesn’t take much to be at the top of the ACC compared to what it takes to reach the top of the SEC.
8m not sure they can score enough to keep up. Granted, I haven't seen too much of SMU live.
