UCONN fans still can’t believe someone else is the top dog. Cardoso looked really good today. Beal was fantastic. Boston was again superb. Great win!UCONN fans were talking about how LSU would handle us today which never made much sense given this game was a sold out home game.
I can understand UCONN fans giving them the nod if we were on the road at LSU. But never understood all the "LSU will whip them" talk with a game in Columbia.
Better. No doubt about it.Starting to wonder if this team is as good or better than the 2020 team.
When this team plays their best basketball, they can't be beat.Better. No doubt about it.
Better. No doubt about it.
Sadly, sooner or later they'lllose one, hope it's not during the playoffs
Every post i read from a uconn fan on any board was wanting us to throttle LSU as a paper tiger. Not sure what others are talking about. Maybe some uconn fan somewhere posted something….but they know we are a number one seed and they are competing with lsu for a #1 so they are in our cornerUCOON fans still can’t believe someone else is the top dog. Preseason, I posted (perhaps on a different board) my total support/excitement for Coach Staley, this team and the future of Carolina WBB. I sincerely believe that we are TOO close to the current situation to fully appreciate the greatness, as a team ... no, as a program, we are seeing. Read Coach Staley's Wiki resume. Something Special here!!!
I hope you won't fixate on that too much before we finish the deal on this season.Starting to wonder if this team is as good or better than the 2020 team.
Fair enoughIt was on several UCONN boards on Facebook. I won't copy and paste them but a number of predictions of a big loss to LSU.
She's done a lot in two years, though. And she has stature in the profession and she has reach. She'll get more players. The biggest obstacle for her would be age. She'll be 61 in May.Despite the team shooting so poorly from the free throw line and the refs letting LSU get away with moving screens the entire time, it was a pretty solid thumping.
This LSU team reminds me of our teams before Aja Wilson arrived. The talent level has been elevated from where LSU was a couple years ago, but I dont know if any of the LSU players would start for South Carolina.
LSU does have a higher ranked recruiting class for '23, but with Boston, Beal, Saxton & Cook graduating '24 might be another big time class for Staley. Especially if the team wins the title again this year. She's done a lot in two years, though. And she has stature in the profession and she has reach. She'll get more players. LSU got her at about the same stage of life Spurrier was at when he came here. It was a good run but relatively short-lived. Not too many hold on like Boeheim and how has he done lately?
Not fixated. Just remember that team was awesome and wished they could have finished the season.I hope you won't fixate on that too much before we finish the deal on this season.
Yep, I think she said it all without saying a thing, but sometimes we just have to spout!Only wish Dawn wouldn't have mentioned the Eagles divine right to win the super bowl. Just seemed silly to say. Super Bowl winners are not written, divine or destiny manifest.
Well, it's just futile - it's unknowable and unfixable. Just speaking generally, I think this is the best frontcourt we've ever had. We have had backcourts with greater firepower. Not fixated. Just remember that team was awesome and wished they could have finished the season.
That woman out there is going to be trouble - for as long as she lasts. They hired a coach of near Summitt-like capabilities.LSU does have a higher ranked recruiting class for '23, but with Boston, Beal, Saxton & Cook graduating '24 might be another big time class for Staley. Well she is in her 60s so who knows how long she will stick it out. I know shes originally from Louisiana and was an assistant coach @ LA Tech so I guess her being there is kind of like being home. That woman out there is going to be trouble - for as long as she lasts. It won't be because there's no replacing Boston in the short term.Well she is in her 60s so who knows how long she will stick it out. I know shes originally from Louisiana and was an assistant coach @ LA Tech so I guess her being there is kind of like being home.
I do think its good for the conference and good for our program to have some stiff competition to keep us focused. With Vic Schafer coming back to the conference with Texas and Tennessee showing some signs of life again, winning the SEC might not be a forgone conclusion every year.
Since the 2013-14 SeasonGive credit where it’s due. Dawn Staley turned the Lady Gamecocks team into an unstoppable Death Star of women’s basketball. They would probably beat the pro-teams. 😂
We’re going to need another talented big after this year to replace Boston. Perhaps another transfer-in might be out there. As Mulkey said in her presser, she remembers her national championship days with 6’5” and 6’7” players on the court at the same time. I’m sure she meant the Britany Griner days. That woman out there is going to be trouble - for as long as she lasts. They hired a coach of near Summitt-like capabilities.

I think Cardoso has another year left and Chloe Kitts may turn into a great player. We are not devoid of talent and '24 should be a big recruiting class. It won't be because there's no replacing Boston in the short term.
Next year we will be top ten but not as dominant. The following year we will be talented but green. We've already had one championship robbed from us in all likelihood. We need to win this one; I'd say it's imperative. After 2020, I'll always feel we are one championship behind.I think Cardoso has another year left and Chloe Kitts may turn into a great player. Its never going to get better than this, enjoy the ride!Next year we will be top ten but not as dominant. The following year we will be talented but green. Indeed, today’s college WBB stand to make a lot more coin in college than in the pros. Even Boston can make more if a deep-pocket person puts up a bundle to keep her. I doubt it would happen though.UConn fans believe they'll be favored to win a NC next year since we lose so much and they return a talent laden senior class. Our current seniors have a covid year and who knows with NIL$$$$$$ it's possible Boston might return. Dawn has hinted at that.
