Top US sprinter out of the Olympics for smoking weed

The question of weed legality aside, My question is, if she knew there would be a test, why did she take the chance? Seems like she is the one that's stupid.

It seems the same people who criticize her were defending Garcia when he was tested and kicked out of school. They both knew the rules and broke them.

You haven’t explained the hypocrisy of the “woke left” how is it hypocritical for not wanting her banned and to also allow transathletes to participate? Those aren’t conflicting stances
Dude, I made it clear. The hypocrisy is banning an athlete for taking a drug that supposedly gives her an advantage while allowing men, who obviously have an advantage, to participate in women's sports. So to summarize, let me restate their position. drug advantage bad, men particpating in women sport good. Hypocrisy definition. Belief that contradicts what one claims to believe or feel. Get it now? Do you now feel kind of silly accusing me of not understanding the words I use?

Was the girl stupid for having this in her system? Of course. Can't fix stupid. But it also shows just how upside down our world is right now. What she did doesn't give her a competitive advantage, but if somebody with a different package between their legs suddenly decided that they wanted to imagine themselves a woman so they could win a medal, that is more than OK. I know the prevailing mood in this country, set by the PC police, is to make sure that nobody gets their feelings hurt if one lives, or can imagine, they live an alternative lifestyle. But the tail is wagging the dog and the adults in the room need to get a grip on things
Have you ever known anyone that went through extensive hormone therapy?

That’s not hypocrisy because I am not saying they should ban her! You used the wrong word just admit it. No one on the left is saying that she should be banned

until recently you had to get a sex change to participate as a transathlete. If you have ever known anyone that has gone through extensive hormone therapy you wouldn’t marginalize it as “just saying you’re a girl” that stuff messes around with every inch of your body.

Y’all brought in transathletes in a thread that had nothing to do with them because you are either transphobic or fetishize them - honestly my money says it’s both

Good grief man. I never once said that you were hypocritical. In fact, I already made a statement saying I wasn’t accusing you of this. I was addressing the committee that made the rules. And if that committee decided that it was ok for trans to participate, then I can guarantee you that they are woke progressives. It’s the same committee that bans weed. (See?hypocrisy) I know they are progressives because anyone else has the common sense to know otherwise. Your thread makes my point about how ridiculous this is. It’s illogical and based on lies, therefore you attack words, not principle, and try to confuse things because you can’t use science and facts to support your belief.

And don't care to. You are born what you are. I'd love to be a billionaire, but somehow imagining it to be just doesn't work. Beyond foolishness to even try to defend this nonsense.
It’s not just as simple as them “thinking” they are. Your brain is the biggest determinant of who you are and studies have shown transpeople brains are closer to that of their chosen gender than assigned: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/05/180524112351.htm

this stuff is more fluid and nuanced than y’all would like to admit. I could show you a ton of transwomen that you would check out on the street(chances are you have before) - and if they are men, does that make you bisexual?

Woke crowd favorites often get to play by different rules. I'll be surprised if she doesn't get to run. The only thing stopping it might be the legal consequences for not making exceptions in the past.

Yet the mentally challenged can be as strong as an ox... so I dont understand what one thinks has to do with physical competition. Isnt that why they were brought into the conversation in the first place? Or did you intentionally try to divert the issue?

I agree with you on both. If the rules are published before and one chooses to disregard them, they deserve to suffer the consequences. No one to blame but themselves

So when there's a dumb rule and someone breaks it, should we criticize them or praise them?

Help me figure this out.
You’re trying to paint “rule breaking” with a broad brush. Some rules are dumb, some rules are good. That is to be determined by that individuals set of values.

If one thinks the speed limit is too low on a certain stretch of road, then one cant just go 25 over and not expect consequences.
It may be correct that the limit should be higher and the way to remedy that is to work to get it changed through the procedures put in place to do that.
Bottom line is that rules are rules and one wants them changed then work to get them changed. Don't just disobey them and then cry about the punishment.

But Rosa Parks disobeyed the rules, which you explicitly said should not be done.

When she broke the rule I am sure she was aware of the consequences but felt it was worth it (and it certainly was) by doing so.
There are certainly clear examples where working within the system is not going to result in a change. Those are rare.
Contrary to todays thinking, not every movement requires a march or a rally or a protest.

I think one could argue that the attention that this case received makes it more likely that marijuana will be removed from the list of banned substances (as it should IMO).

If that's the way it ends up playing out, then Richardson absolutely deserves praise for martyring herself for the benefit of future competitors.

Are you suggesting that the use of marijuana is a benefit?

Sure didn't martyr herself, she got high.
