I've been informed by people close to the USM job search that Tyrone Nix did not intervew for the head coaching job today as expected, but that the interview should take place within the next 48 hours. As you might expect, there's been a whirlwind of activity surrounding the job search and the two parties could not meet today as they has hoped. The Auburn DC is expected to apply for the job as well. I get the impression from talking with my sources that the USM people have been a bit overwhelmed by the response to the job opening. I don't think they expected so many coaches to express interest. They're sorting through a bunch of names right now. Hopefully, in a few days we'll have a better grasp of where Nix stands and what his chances are.
