uab knocks off iowa st. *

seems like that is now the top history of losses in the madness. I can not remember where we were seeded when we lost to coppin st.

2 against Coppin State in 1997. 3 against Richmond in 1998. I remember that Coppin State loss. I was a senior in high school and watched some of the game in the school gym and then watched the finish at home. It was one of those moments where you were like....."did that actually happen? Did we actually lose to Coppin State?" Moments like that were when you actually started to think that chicken curse stuff might have some validity. Thankfully guys like Ray Tanner and Steve Spurrier ended the silly notion of a chicken curse. Hopefully Frank Martin can do the same for our men's basketball team.

Yes, a 3-seed the following year in the loss to Richmond.

Interestingly, there had only been two, 2 seeds that lost to a 15 seed prior to our loss to Coppin State. That was 2-seed Syracuse losing to Richmond, I think, and 2-seed Arizona losing to somebody -- can't remember which school. After our upset loss, ironically it was Iowa State who was the next 2-seed to lose to a 15 seed. I believe that happened in the 2001 NCAA Tourney.

This is correct.

And on a side note we're a year apart. I was a junior sitting on the bus waiting to play a baseball game listening to it on the radio.

Just shows you what good coaches do with the so called less. Hopefully, this is a window into what Frank is capable of. Only time will tell if he can. Give him the time.
